Deep Jump-in->Ultra

I’ve been using rufus a lot lately, and jump-in->hp->ultra always works when people do something stupid, but everyone is right, You’re better off doing a combo. Especially with rufus or ryu, because you get to have the threat of “don’t do ANYTHING that can get you hit. you WILL get ultra’d”

agreed, take it from a ryu player, playing a chun or an abel with ultra just plain sucks, one absent minded qcf + punch and you’re ready to throw your stick through a wall.

Seriously, his Ultra does more damage and has a little more range than Chun’s.

Anyway, there’s really no point to jump in Ultras … It’s nice to know it’s possible but I would rather land an Ultra while my opponent is in recovery than combo into it.

I main Chun so the difference between a raw Ultra and a combo Ultra is very significant.

I’d say it’s because there are much more viable and reliable ways for high level players to land their ultra’s… though I’m sure it would be a great surprise in the later sets of a match.

Can we get a list of which characters can do a jump in -> ultra combo?

Everyone but those with charge Ultras (I think), Gief, Fuerte and Akuma, I think.

Of note, Cammy’s jump in -> Ultra doesn’t even have to be deep at all. Her J.HK can hit Ryu’s forehead and she’ll STILL get a guaranteed Ultra.

Rog can land Ultra off j.hp/hk as long as you’re not jumping-in.
