Just wanted to say that we got an AE setup in my town… and its free play. Be jealous.
I haven’t been playing SF much, mostly 99% marvel. It’s easy to pick back up DJ for me, it’s like riding a bike. Thing is I forgot safe jump setups and stuff lol.
Srsly though, play marvel and your reactions get way better.
Anyone offhand know who j.hk, cr.hp xx hp MGU, j.hk, cr.hp xx EX MGU, EX sobat and j.hk, cr.hp xx EX Air Slash, EX Sobat works on?
These seem to be Deejays most damaging punish combos(no meter and metered), but they are highly character specific and I hate whiffs. Don’t really feel like testing that.
I’m used to it coming from Blanka, cr.mk xx elec whiffs on certain characters, and he has multiple crossup combos he has to do differently depending on the opponent. I find it kind of interesting so everything isn’t just the same every matchup, but still frustrating.
Sorry if I missed this in another thread (I tried looking), but what’s DeeJay’s best damage option after connecting with a focus attack (reversal that makes the other person crumple)? I’m guessing dash and his regular cr jab combo and end with cr mk? I’ve just been throwing but I feel like there’s got to be something more. Also, I’m playing AE so if anyone’s familiar with that would help too (I think he has a little more time after a FA in AE before “hitting them out of” the crumple).
The combo after FA I use is St. MK into 2 hit St. MK cancel into Sobat. Does a ton of damage. You can also FADC into it again if you have the meter and want to push them in the corner. That’s AE only.
deejay doesn’t have any great frame traps. close mk to cr. jab or vice versa are pretty good.

deejay’s mk and hk remind me of bison’s st mk and hk both horizontal and can rarely be used as an AA.

Daaaaaaaamn. I need to see these fly sneakers. Also, I way bored of DJ right at this point. You know when combos get a little stale? I just want some sobat FADC combos and I want less pushback on J.MK and I want better range on C.MP.
Basically bring AE out already lol. I’m gunna have to play some MK until then.
Anyone have an idea of how to get more hits on this? The only obvious thing to me is throwing a fireball and manually moving the dummy backwards and having deejay chase it down to add an extra hit.
There is probably a character you can get double cl.lk xx maxout on, but I don’t know all that stuff yet.
I was having issues with honda. but I could retry I guess, I was trying something different on him, but the 5 hit followup after the fireball was not working against him.
It’s a great point. It’d be real nice if you could combo into upkicks on a croucher. I have no idea why they don’t other than they dunno what they’re doing with the hitboxes. j.mk, c.lp, c.lp c.mp MKupkick xx MKupkick would be a real fun combo, like the old days.
I think they need to go one better and do something ridiculous like mix universes and have Armour King turn out to be Dee Jay all along…It totally works, he has Sobats and everything.
