scales pretty hard tho because each grouping of hits of mgu adds another level of scaling
what i mean by grouping of hits is
the first 2/3 hits starts by their knees, then their waste, then their chest, then the last one sends them flying.
So i know I mentioned this already, but I found YET ANOTHER video of DeeJay getting hit out of LK sobat with a low. BUT he was using it to counter lows in the same match.
This one’s older though. But at around the 3:45 mark he gets stuffed, but used it to crush lows earlier in the match. Maybe Capcom didn’t completely remove its invul, just some? (I’m desperately hopeful right now haha.)
If mgu FADC combos build good stun it could be a legit answer besides Dj builds a lot of meter in no time. @IslandBoy At 2:26 a lk sobat went over the low and ensured the round but like you said it was a older build.
So if the lk. sobat’s hurtbox is just on deejay’s leg. Maybe the nerf just means we can’t obnoxiously throw it out at point blank range to eat crouch techs and will still beat moves like Akuma’s cr. HK when spaced right. I’m trying here.
Nothing like going to the weekly Street Fighter get together, getting completely smashed, and raging about Dee Jay to people that know the game. Can’t do that with scrubs. I feel slightly better, tho hungover.

I came here to share info and get better, this sub forum seems to supply the opposite at this point, smh.
Unlike Deejay and his infinite smile, some of us have breaking points of being patient and “reasonable”. The character has been getting the shaft since he was reintroduced into the series. Ultra was supposed to be the version where corrections were made and NOW is when we find out there is a systemic reason why Deejay won’t be corrected. He’s meant to be a joke character that gives you a warm rewarding feeling if you can win with him. Imagine getting that memo 4 years after the fact of picking him up and doing the whole “it’s not the character, it’s the player” thing.
So yah, if that type of negativity bothers you, peace out.
There’s a big difference here. All the other players playing other characters are crying about small nerfs, but sobat’s been nerfed, buffed, then nerfed harder.

Tried to blame myself instead of the character. It worked for a while then i hit yet another glass ceiling. I keep breaking these glass ceilings, but the character is limited.
You shouldn’t play a character where you know what’s coming and have no answer to it. Well i’m just tired of the ONLY answer being block. Only thing i didn’t have to block were lows and jump ins. Now i don’t have to block jump ins.
So many characters do what he does, but better.

Lurker and longtime mediocre Dee Jay, here. Only want to say FREEJ4Y has been speaking words of wisdom about the changes. I’m baffled as to how even a few people who apparently play the character could disagree with his assessment. If you’ve played this character seriously for even a week, let alone four years, you should be able to see why the negativity is 100% warranted.
Da Knut put it best. He’s a joke character, but Dee Jay players are only now being told that, after years of work have been put into him. What a waste.

My guess is Capcom was trying to go for some type of ghetto Guile/ghetto Bison archetype when they made DeeJay but it hasn’t really worked out.
I DO like that if we hit our (somewhat) better reversal option it’s a guaranteed Ultra for only one meter. Only person i can think off the top of my head that can also do that is Viper.
I’ll also be saving DeeJay for specific matchups. I like fighting certain fireball characters with him, like Sagat.

I don’t have shit positive to say about DJ. I don’t have shit positive to say about Capcom. TBH, i feel like I got shitted on and disrespected. The whole point of Ultra is to make a balanced game, “make every character a threat” etc. After watching a wack ass video that purposely mislead the community (ex mgu invincibility etc.) and basically told DJ players that your character is still bad, work hard and deal with it… Why should I buy the game? All of my hype is gone.
I watched that. Everyone was fucking laughing like it was the funniest shit they’d ever heard in their lives. That’s when I turned off NicoNico. If Ayano and/or Combofiend were in my face, I’d knock them the fuck out. I like you guys so I’ll pop in from time to time. I need more alcohol.
I understand the negativity. I’ve been maining him for 5 months. Within the first week, I could see some of his weaknesses but played through them as I figured it was just me. Figured a few changes (Medium and Heavy sobat knockdown, increase the hit box of cr.mp, fix it so that both hits of sobat ACTUALLY FUCKING HIT INSTEAD OF RANDOMLY ONLY GETTING ONE FUCKING HIT EVEN THO I’VE SPACED IT RIGHT AS I’D DONE IT A MILLION TIMES BUT NOPE, JUST ONE HIT.) I understand the negativity. I understand why I’m the ONLY Dee Jay player in Vegas. I agree with the negativity. The rum isn’t gone yet but I’ma fix that.
They Did balance Ultra, unfortunately is not in that “All chars are good” its “Some chars got super good, so there has to be super Shit characters”
