the bandwagon would be crazy.

The sole drawback to ST DeeJay was that MGU mashing was the most complicated thing to pull off ever.

I didn’t play as much as Willpower but the far mp buff felt really good. There were a couple times when someone jumped in on me where I thought I was going to be counter hit and the mp won. Didn’t try any combos with it though.

Also Hugo can be instant overheaded with jump back roundhouse.

Oh wow, jump back instant over head, sounds like Hugo is just too tall. Then again, I’ll take any advantage I can get as DeeJay.

Actually once you understand how to mash MGU in ST it’s pretty simple. The bigger issue is the speed you have to mash because of the characters hitboxes . For example to get the 4 hit MGU on Guile and Sim is much easier than it is on Ken or Ryu because Guile’s and Sim’s hitboxes are wider. But once you learn how to do it it’s not that hard it just takes time and practise. You usually want 4 reps going from HP, MP, LP x4 and I would recommend starting the mgu from HP. So cr.lp or cr.lk xx HP MGU then HP, MP, LPx4. The combo that I usualy practise is crossover mk, cr.lp xx HP MGU HP, MP, LP x4. Totaling in 6 hits if you do it right. The reason why i recommend doing it from HP is because if the opponent is standing you can go into the easier version of cross over MK, cr.LP, cr.HP xx HP MGU HP, MP, LP x4. This version is guaranteed to dizzy after 3 hits of the MGU.

Anyway back to SF4 DJ

So who do you guys think will be the worst/best match-ups out of the four new characters.

Hugo will be a fuggin nightmare, how do you cross that shit up?

I imagine Rolento would be bad too since he has some tricky aerial shit as well.

If you went off the last build Balrog is the scariest match up not just for us but for everyone in the game.

Yeah, the new characters will give Dee a little trouble. Rolento will be evasive and annoying, plus he has EX Patriot Circle into Ultra, which means mashy-mashy-mashy. His oki game might be decent, too, but upkicks should mitigate that threat, at the risk of being punished, of course.
Hugo will be like fighting a slower, less capable T. Hawk, until he gets in; then, it’s over. He has that nasty, “Gief with U2” guessing game, but with his EX air-grab (I can’t remember if I saw it grab back-dashes) and the clothesline. Does his Super go through fireballs?

Elena might be most annoying to fight, with her high/low mixup that might rival Dudley’s. (Have you seen those overheads?!?). It’ll be tough to block everything. Let’s hope she doesn’t have a great, 3S-like kara throw.

Poison looks very solid. (S)he has ways to get in with that flip move (Love Me Tender?), a great fireball game, a DP, and apparently some good normals. Playing her in SFxT felt wrong; she always felt like the perfect SFIV character. Ironically, as solid as she looks, I’m least threatened by Poison.

Played Ultra, changes are ass for Deejay. Counter hit Hp doesn’t float them high enough for anything other than a ex sobat at best. Kneeshot doesn’t have more blockstun. Slide still sucks monkey nuts, St mp buff is mediocre, cr lk is acceptable. U1 buff not great. Red focus won’t help since our focus sucks. Delayed wake up hurts us more than it helps us. All new chars rape our asses including poison. Imma hop on to Hugo

as predicted

Dam after reading that it’s getting real hard keeping the faith.

We just needed one thing… A ground reversal… Was that so hard? Combofiend plzz

mannnnnnnn option select throw tech / cr hp owns viper soooo much. Fuck your overhead viper!

don’t get frame trapped

That is a damn shame to hear. I imagined delayed wake-up would hurt a lot, considering vortex with DeeJay is a lot of fun. Wish Ultra 2 would be made better somehow. I’m confused as to why Kneeshot got more hitstun but not block stun. The st HP thing is disappointing, kinda wanted to try and be fancy with that haha. Hopefully in a more recent build of the game we’ll see better changes? Maybe? Hopefully?

i figured out the knee shot buff. it was basically for hugo, but will help for the other tall characters (sagat, seth)

That makes sense I think, but still, shouldn’t it have a bit more block stun to go with it? Hugo is enormous comparatively to everyone else too.

Capcom Unity opened a new thread for Character balancing bitching a while ago.

Deejay army ASSEMBLE!

maybe he zones hugo well and they don’t want to let him get raped offensively and defensively in that match.

no air movement and slow normals should mean easy pickings for deejay. i assume he can’t duck ex upkicks
