link?

If only I used FB. SRK and Twitter plebian for life I suppose.

And just to fill my status quo of Fischbs hate.

Fuck you, you are wrong. Stop being happy about DeeJay. >:c

Fuck you Froztey you can’t hang onto DJ just like you couldn’t hang onto the original 13 colonies. Go sip some shitty tea.

I like this guy^ =D
A fellow lover of Deejay!

I love DJ man. If they would only fix his cl.hk/cl.hp (former needs to not whiff on second hit at max spacing, latter needs to hit crouching on first hit) then I would have no complaints left. If they’d take it a step further and make the second punch of cl.hp red focus cancellable I’d be really close to done about complaining. But who can ever be completely done? ;3

After playing DeeJay and getting back into SF and hitting my beloved 3000pp scale again, I’ve come to the conclusion that DeeJay isn’t as bad as I thought he was. Aside from a couple really bad match-ups he’s not terrible.

That’s all I can be bothered to type, busy downloading Ground Zeroes for free, thank you based PS+ gods!

DJ is the best J. Needs cl.hp removed from the game and EX MGU’s AE range to make a return.

Hey guys, please sign the Dee Jay SFV petition if you can spare a quick second

Fuck no. After his mediocre appearance in SFIV I’d rather just see some other characters from the other games, namely people like Urien, or Sodom. IMO he’d be a waste of a character slot, like Dan.

On another note, some good attendance from DeeJay at HadoCon, saw a player named Tangent who was doing pretty well for he lacked a little in the neutral game and got most of his momentum from the dreadead DEEEEJAAAAAY VORRTTEEEEXXXX. But in his defence it was due to his opponents not understanding the fake cross-up knee shot mix-up…every one fell for that, pretty weak tournament in regards to player quality. His anti-airs were mad good. He’s okay but he needs work in a lot of departments, and should pick U1 in some damn match-ups. Kurokiba showed up too. He shouldn’t have. Kappa. Think he went out to a Rose or something as the commentators were saying it was DeeJay’s favour. God rest his soul. And some dude called KS_Tali was having the time of his life in the Twitch chat about about DeeJay, that was kinda funny too. I’m ready for EVO personally though, need some serious high level play and HOPEFULLY another 1st time champion.

And ONE more thing… - I have a pretty big event coming up, and my first offline venture VSFighting that’s a CPT event, I’m at a crossroad of who I want to train up for it. DeeJay is probably my best character in terms of knowledge and ability at the moment but he’s kinda weak and I get bodied by certain characters (Seth, Blanka, Rose, Guile) and I need some tech or just general tips for how to level myself up. Looking for any good option selects as well if there are any, regardless of difficulty.

I’m working on a guide for option selects. I’ll try to post it here in the next few days.

After playing SF5 day one for five minutes and going back to SF4, I’ve hated every minute of it. Think I’m done with fighting games until SF5 drops, play USF4 occasionally but I don’t think I’m ever going to hit the training room again, I don’t enjoy any of it. I’ll just play with my Ken/Cody/DeeJay casually.

Hi guys … I want to play DJ for the rest of the SF4 life-time and I must say I enjoy it a lot.

I think that DJ is a solid preparation for SF5 … XD

For sure he has a semi Vortex game … but playing a strong fundamental DJ will be pretty similar to playing a SF5 character with footsie, FB, fundamentals and lots of reads.

He has:

  • A Reversal that is 100% commitment (without FADC ability)
  • You cant abuse his back dash (because it is so bad)
  • He has already a crush counter (with far HP)
  • He is a character that has a usefull super and therefore can be played to get super to hit-confirm it into big damage
  • He is a lot of specials and normals that are only usefull for certain situations

For sure his damage output is not that great but I do think that playing a footsie/fundamental DJ is a pretty good training for SF5 … if you don’t rely to much on FA.

For me it is nice … because learning a new character now is just training and I also believe that 1.04 DJ is a pretty solid character so far … not top but solid.

Does anybody can tell me some regular and usefull anti-3-frame-DP set ups ?

I am playing against a pretty solid Ryu off-line … and I am eating a lot of light DPs … o.O … need some set-ups that stuff it or let it whiff … (this dude knows how to delay and auto-correct)

Would be great to get some ideas after the regular KD stuff.

Thx

f.throw, whiff cr.hp, j.mk usually beats dps. Autocorrect will beat the setup though.

lk.sobat into instant knee whiffs and baits dps.

when you get more experience you can just bait dps by manually timing a knee shot to land early.

Many thanks … I watched a ton of DJ matches lately … and it looks like that top players often do a tiny step forward after --> sweep, lk sobat --> and than jump in with MK.

Cant say if this beats out delayed DPs because basically all the players didn’t challenge this set up … XD

Any good viable set ups after sweep or lk sobat ?

THX

Hey, so i am back to playing after being away since 2012. DeeJay feels about the same in Ultra but I haven’t really dug into the changes since I last played. Did still have that cr.lp, cr.mp link even after all that time off. Feel that rhythm.
Any tips on what buttons to avoid or lean on more now than when AE 2012 was new? Feels like knee shot is better now. I see they took away then gave back lk sobat low invincibility. Any reason not to roll with the double ultra if i am ok with the damage penalty?

Knee shot got a hitstun improvement and I think it’s hitbox was lowered a little too, you don’t have to relearn any of his normals they’re all pretty much the same aside from st.mp being an irrelevant combo filler. You shouldn’t really be running UW and should just stick to U2 for the damage and U1 for the utility in certain match-ups, he needs the damage and comeback factor of U2 in case you ever get yourself in a bad spot. Biggest change is that EX Upkicks is a damn nice reversal now, it CAN be made to whiff but it’s very specific tech that not a ton of players use so use that as a get off me special now, it seems to have gotten a little worse at auto-correcting from my experience. Aside from that his neutral is pretty much the same. St.mk, cr.mp and slide are probably your best buttons still for the mid-range. St.hp got a buff as an anti-air and causes the juggle state when you land it perfectly so it’s better to use as an AA now and can go into some good damage. Red focus is useless don’t even bother just FADC or cancel into a level 2.

Been a while since I’ve bothered playing so take anything said with a grain of salt I may be off the target a little.

Thanks for the advice.
I find myself with full super pretty often and the reason I think I’ll go with UW is that I want the option of the sobat xx super xx u1 chip out and the option for u2 damage if I get the opportunity. Don’t get many opportunities to land u2 and still working on that ex.mgu dash u2.
I don’t know that having both will be as useful as it would be for sim, but as seldom as I land an ultra, I am just not sure whether it is better to have two ways to use the bar, or more damage when I do use the bar.

Super is pretty good I think, I’ve started to prefer just threatening it instead of using it though. I only tend to use it if it’s a guaranteed kill.

UW for DeeJay is a little “meh” but if I’m honest learning dash U2 is super important, having the ability to convert into it is one of DeeJay’s only saving graces for comebacks. If you like Super > U1 though roll with it, I don’t find UW that appealing myself though.
