The evidence is progressive. Every administration for the last 50 years has outspent the last. George Bush spending was nearly double of Bill Clinton, who had all the right propensities to be a massive spender, good to see the Conservative congress kept him in check. However, the unthinkable happened. We spent ourselves to hell with a REpublican congress and president. How does that happen? It is obvious that the Republican party long stopped being the party of conservative thought and keen pro-capitalistic economic policies. Basically Republicans are democrat light. Extreme keynesians, with democrats being nearly full blown socialist. No major democrat has had an economic platform which wasn’t borderline Liberal Democratic (as what is seen in Canada). Basically, Liberals no longer exist, they are all socialist. And republicans are the new liberals. With no party really representing true conservative thought in American anymore.
We are a stealth socialist society now, but we will be a full blown wellfare state at the end of Obama’s term. And even if Obama is assassinated, Biden will just do it. It’s a lose/lose situation. And even if we had a republican in office, the same thing would have still happened.
Where is our economic sovereignty and liberation from globalization? When do we liberated from the evils of the IMF, Worldbanc, and WTO? It’s never going to happen, it will only get worse. And Obama is the one to put the final nail in American’s coffin, you just watch.

I know we have socialistic tendencies now. And that is the problem. Socialism is such a big part of out lives, that no one is willing to entertain capitalism any longer. As a matter of fact, the name of capitalism has unfairly been dragged in the mud. As a black man, I was taught by my parents to despise capitalism. And the younger generation are very much strong proponents of capitalism. I do my best to educate the young generation on capitalism, but socialism is powerful within the mind of the youth. Capitalism is better, but it carries such a bad connotation, that many people just don’t want to hear it.
But make no mistakes, this country, this nation, was founded on capitalism. And without it, we are no longer really America. Capitalism is freedom, socialism is slavery. And in my opinion socialism is a drug that poisons the spirit of people. Obama IS a socialist, one glance at his platform and you will see it. But a politician is a politician. I’m more ashamed at my fellow Americans, and black Americans for going along with his rhetoric.

I think the mods did us a solid by letting this thread exist, but I still don’t think a general politics thread is necessarily a good thing for SRK. They were taken off the table in the past for a reason.
A general politics thread with heavy doses of race and religion issues is definitely a questionable idea.
By and large people have comported themselves very well overall with this thread. But it’s going downhill quickly. Maybe it can get back on track. Or maybe it should just end on a relatively high note. I vote the latter - but I’m no mod of course.
