Again, both Israeli and its neighbors have horrible and potentially self-destructive policies which I disagree with(I don’t know when not wanting masses of civilians to die or oppressed became “pussy westernized liberal guilt bullshit”),
But the United States has no business their affairs. Israel doesn’t need our protection they are more than capable enough of wiping out any Arab country in the middle east by themselves if they wanted.

The reason the world is in such bad shape is because so many places are so quick to react violently. Violence doesn’t solve problems, in the end its always going to come down to negotiations, treaties, diplomacy…war just delays that process and causes unnecessary suffering.

Hamas wasn’t involved it was Hezbollah. Hezbollah is not the lebanese army, and guess what, Israel has captured for years before that war thousands of Lebanese prisoners and Hezbollah compatriots and still holds them in their jails, so with your logic Hezbollah is justified! The way Britain responded was proper because they avoided the cost of war in both financial and human terms- if a conflict such as this can be resolved in this manner you should be praising it, not being upset that we didn’t kill countless Iranians because of their government’s actions.
And Hezbollah used tactics to make Israel look bad? Israel was the one that decided to destroy all Lebanese civilian infrastructure such as the Rafic Hariri airport, highways, and bridges. Bombed power stations that leaked thousands of tons of oil into the mediterranean. They even bombed a UN observer post which killed UN observers, and continued to bomb even after receiving calls by the UN and even continued to bomb as rescuers reached the area. The high civilian deathtoll, use of white phosphorus and cluster bombs shows me that Israel had no regard for any civilian life. Hezbollah in comparison killed much more Israel military than they did civilians- how did they manage to be more accurate in their strikes?
And don’t give me that garbage that they only did it because Hezbollah was using a school or two to attack the invading forces. Entire fucking neighborhoods and villages were laid to the ground, ambulances were targeted. Amnesty International and the Human rights watch had already found that most of Hezbollah military activity was conducted outside of villages.
That is exactly what ISRAEL engages in, the occupation of the palestinian territories and the oppression of the people. Pre-emptive war and occupation are violent ideologies which should be stamped out. I’m not a liberal by the way, and not every person who’s anti-war is.
By the way, we have captured Iranian diplomats and workers, and have massed our military near their western and eastern border- does that mean Iran is justified if they started an attack on the United States? This is not the right way for anyone.

If Obama gets the nomination, McCain will win. No contest! I hate to say it, but America still isn’t ready for a person of color to be President. Do you see Alabama going to Obama? Or Mississippi? or Arkansas? The small states he’s got in the primary I don’t think he’lll be able to pick them up in the general election. Besides, the poor man doesn’t have enough political experience. He’s very young (45). Unfortuntaely, as seen in the CA primaries, he is clearly divisive. He got the majority vote from African Americans and the Latte Liberals in the SF Bay; however, my Asian and Hispanic brothers and sisters, and those of the moderate majority, went out in droves and voted for Hillary… Notice how a lot of the south western staes have goner her way??? It seems that Obama hasn’t made much effort to reach out to others…
I’ll be blunt, I’m very nervous! Wish someone could reassure me that he can win; but after 2000 and 2004, I don’t know anymore! If he gets the nomination, the Republicans will cry " Barack Hussein Obama," tie his grade school years to extreamist Muslim practices, and a slew of toher very very far left things he’s said and done, and immoral fiscal practices before he became Senator. I actually think the exact opposite of you. I think that if Hillary got the nom, there’s no way SHE could win. I didn’t use to think that, but after these primaries and caucuses America has shown me that they will vote for a black presidential candidate if he is viable. I think Hillary is a lot more polarizing than Obama, simply for the reason that you state - Obama is young and has little experience. That means that some swing voters have not really had time to form an opinion on him one way or another, thus the jury is still out. Whereas with Hillary, EVERYBODY already has an opinion and their mind made up on her.
The only reason Clinton has the slight edge now are the super delegates, Obama actually has more meat and potatoes delegates, meaning he’s pulled in more of the actual voters, which speaks more in his favor for the general election should he get the nom. If it comes down to super delegates, I think they might swing it towards Hillary cause the Clintons have their hand in that pot. Obama may have to win it outright to get the nod, which means it’s a little too soon for you to panic if you don’t want him to be the one representing the party.
dude America’s been ready for a Black president, its just that prior to Obama coming along many black people before him like Jesse Jackson didn’t fit the mold of a president. They played up more of the fact that there black than focusing more on the issues.

I don’t understand why people bring this up like the alternative is much better. Hilary is what, a second term senator? Wow, I’m impressed. There have been many presidents in the past with little to no political experience. Lincoln had only served one term as a congressmen before being elected president. Fuck experience.
Everybody has had to pretty much grin and bear two terms of what we have now.
Somehow I get this uneasy feeling that if the shoe gets on the other foot, there isn’t going to be nearly as much grinning and bearing.
I hope I am wrong about that. But I doubt it. And it pisses me off, to be honest.

that sounds real nice…america is great, but you can’t deny the impact of racism all over this country, and its impact throughout the history of this country. there’s racial divides in this country that really don’t exist in other superpower countries. and honestly even if obama made it to the presidency, it still wouldn’t change my perception of racism in this country: i’m positive there’s still many many people left in this country who are disgusted by the thought of a black president.
anddd…just another point, i think the democrats are fucking up, basically all their votes are split in half, while mccain is pretty much that guy already for the republicans, i could see him winning based on that alone

i was thinking more along the lines that the people disgusted with a black president would be more than willing to do something about it, make a martyr out of him if you will, and it wouldn’t surprise me. i can’t help but to be skeptical when i think about america. in general there is this “hidden” racism in america that isn’t nearly widespread in other countries.

I know for certain I’m not going to be voting, and I really can’t understand how crowds of people can gather and support a certain group of “issues” grouped together and call them their own. it seems surreal to me to see how attached some people can become.
Well, I just attended a rally for Obama yesterday in Virginia Beach. I am not a super supporter of him, but I wanted to see him in person. Plus I wanted to see if the talk about crowds to see him are true.

FUCK MAN!!! OVER 13,000 PEOPLE SHOWED UP! Seriously, the line was so long it wrapped around our convention center 15 times!!! People were pushing to get in. It was like a rock concert on steroids! They stopped letting people in, and when we walked out there was still a massive crowd outside just to cheer. Blew my mind.
I have been to rallys for other politicians, but I have never seen anything like this. Plus, there was black, white, asian, hispanic a very even demographic.
As for the speech, I have to say he won me over a bit. I lucked out and was very close up. I like going to these things just to see their true self when they are not on camera. You can tell a lot from their body language that you can not catch on TV.
He is a amazing speaker, extremely moving, and even though I do not agree with some of his policies I do have to admit it was amazing because I really saw he meant what he said. It was very interesting.
Still not sure if I will vote for him if he wins the nomination, but I do have a much greater respect for him than I did before.

The voting population today have had enough of the bullshit with Bush - and McCain is just more of the same. When we get to the actual election, if it’s Obama vs McCain the Iraq war will come up as a major element of focus - and when McCain says 100 more years in Iraq! and Obama says “we need to get the fuck out of there, ASAP”, the 80%~ of the population who is against the war will vote.
Fuck McCain. That asshole wants to invate Iran, AND leave our troops stretched out overseas for the next 100 years to protect “American Interests”, which basically means kill anyone who doesn’t lower Oil prices (this is far fetched, im just ranting.)
