That combo that ends in Ivory cutter is actually pretty hard, you have to juggle the opponent high enough for Ivory cutter to hit.
I’ve actually stopped trying to learn it, since it’s too inconsistent because of ranges, timing varies how you hit Geyser cannon.
(still If you want to learn it, I suggest doing, Early cr hp xx hp skullsplitter, somewhat late cr hp xx mp skull splitter, Ivory cutter.)
For alioune’s combo, don’t do regular MP, you have to hit with the MP of the lp-mp target combo or you will use up jugglepoints with regular MP and the cr hp wont connect.
Alioune’s Nina combo from mid-screen is actually pretty difficult. You have to press forward while doing the target combo, otherwise it does not connect, and the timing on that is pretty tight.
So I was watching that new footage of sako and he did cr:hp: geyser then skull splitter then cr:hp: skull splitter cr:hp: b bomb.
I’m wondering how effective it is and how much damage it does. Will try to update tomorrow.
lol i asked someone to post a video of that last page, literally
it’s one of the good combos, apparently the best one is: [geyser] cr HP xx HP skull splitter, cr HP xx MP skull splitter, overhead flip
I think a mp skullsplitter knocks them up higher than a hp one. Makes the overhead easier to hit, but still too hard for me to do reliably so I just do her slightly less damaging easier versions.
Whether you do the harder combo or not, I’m fairly certain that ending with the overhead is preferable to doing somewhat more damage most of the time. It gives you time to charge up a CH for you next hit, which turns all of Nina options into very scary stuff (cLK>sLP works, Overhead ground bounces, and cHP AA goes from a 50/50 reset into a monster damage AA.
Plus it’s a great tag point, either during the combo or afterwards (ground bounce + KD makes a raw tag perfectly safe).
Yea, ending with ivory cutter is very useful. Lets you get a free tag in if you want, and it lets you charge up for a counter hit making her wake-up game 10 times more scary.
I’ve never done that (after ivory cutter) charge wat? Her blonde bomb? If thats the case they roll back u let the blonde bomb follow an it hits CH, if they roll back u cancel the blonde bomb and dash back, if they get up normal (without rolling forward or back) u still let the blonde bomb hit them?
Forget the blond bomb. Just charge it to lvl 2 then backdash. Now you have a counter hit stored for your next attack. Ivory cutter is now a guaranteed groundbounce on hit. Your cr. hp is now a guaranteed juggled for anti air. If they just get up normally then you can go for a mixup. If they roll forward, you still recover from your backdash around the same time they recover from their roll, and you still have your counterhit waiting.
If they start always rolling forward then you can just stop charging and go for an ambiguous crossup attack as they roll. But if they’re just getting up normally, charging to counterhit and having it in store makes Nina’s damage/combo potential much better.
The charged blonde bomb post ivory cutter is definitely a nice trick. Even if you let it rock, it’s a meaty and it’s +1 on block (probably more since it’s a meaty).
Just wanted to say that this is a freaking goldmine for a newb like me! Thanks so much :). Also, Nina’s combos are stylish ;). Especially that J.hk - c.hp xx h. Geyser - Ivory Cutter - Rolling Dash - arm break :D. Though I have a hard time with the rolling dash input after ivory cutter…
