I love being part of a community where I could go to a local gathering or an arcade and play against the best players there. There was no bullshit, and most times they had nothing to gain from beating a scrub like me, but they played me anyway and gave insight into improving my game. Thank you for taking something great like that and trying to make a buck off it.
Also I have no problem with justin or alex making money. Those guys deserve more than they get anyway. Fuck guitar hero though. There is no interaction there, might as well play against a video of those players instead of the players themselves.

I’ll entertain myself with this thread for awhile. I’ve been in and out of Empire and I am currently out of Empire. But when I was in Empire, it was a pleasure imo. I’ve lived, stayed, and visited the ARC multiple times, and I’ve seen TriForce try his hardest to push the gaming community forward. He doesn’t eat well, he doesn’t sleep well, he doesn’t play any other game than Tetris well :D. However, he does try and he does give it his all, so I don’t understand why you guys shit on him. He’s the only one who is trying to push the gaming community forward other than the Cannons, MrWizard, etc. All of you guys hating on him are just part of the problem. Are you guys trying to do anything? Are you guys putting all the effort he has into this business? I don’t believe so. Justin CHOSE to be with Empire, just like everoyne else. Triforce did not put a gun to Justin’s head, Justin believes in teh big things Empire could possibly do and that is why Justin is in Empire. For those who think TriForce is leeching off of Justin’s glory, please think again.
Let me ask you this…if a player wants to get better playing Justin Wong but they don’t live in the same state or country as him. Should Justin (A). Just play endlessly everyone that continuously hit him up on XBL to help make them better at the expense of ignoring work, bills and other normal productive functions of his everyday life… or (B) Help the community through play online while getting paid for it to take care of his every day functions? Oh…I know why its a problem…you all think I’m getting paid for him doing this right? Wrong. I get ZERO on that deal. I did it because Justin wanted to do it.
Also…stop crapping on games you don’t play. respect gaming in it’s entirety. Not just fighting games.
The only ‘push’ you’ve given the US fighting game scene forward is only thanks to people who are sick of your shit and started doing their own thing.
I’m not saying I always agree with Triforce but the amount of attention and hate this guy gets is absolutely hilarious. I mean what happened people? Triforce steal your girlfriend? Kill your dog? Did he send Sanford and Justin over to beat you and your friends down and then talk **** on you guys afterwards?
The mere fact that I see so many people calling this guy out over a web forum shows just how sensitive and insecure you females really are. I mean understand that you are beefing with someone (in a serious manner) you’ve never met. I mean if this **** was all for fun and entertainment okay fine. But you guys are acting like this man actually affects your real world every day life.
Exactly what do you for a living? I don’t see you doing much of anything to give back to society, you know.
( It also bears mention that Justin, though he is a pro, should be thinking about his future. If he is, good for him! More power to him. If not, the dank recesses of FFA should suit him well; he can always sling a few rolls if he’s looking for some extra grease between his palms, you know. )
Well if you aren’t getting paid for it, then I apologize for saying that you were. I don’t care if justin makes money this way, good for him. I am concerned about the idea that top players will all start thinking that they deserve to be paid in order to play against them. If that change happens, I will be happy for all the players who are making a living off this, but I will also miss the time when I could just go to a gathering and play the best. I liked how the community was, but I am also happy that it is getting bigger, even if these changes are happening. My only hate was the idea that you did this to make money, which if you didn’t then I was wrong.
I like guitar hero, but why do you need to play against someone to get better? Your play doesn’t interact with their play. So paying to play against a good player seems foolish, when you could just watch a youtube vid of someone perfecting the song and gain the same insight. The vid may give possibly even more insight since many of the youtube vids ive seen show the fingers of the player as well as the game, something you wont be seeing online.
i’ve met triforce before i even knew who he was back at magfest a few years ago and he was cool in person. seemed more like a coach to emp to me. however, i dont know what he does behind the scenes or whatnot.
This reminds me of a fight in the school yard where one kid gets backed up into a corner and tries to talk his way out of getting beat up hahahaha…
Triforce i really just think hes asking where you would be without all the kids you represent? In other words just about every major corporation (the ones that make real money anyway) has something that gives it value even if every person left the company and the CEO or President was left alone. For the sake of argument take Coca Cola they have recipes for days so it doesnt matter who works for the company because the formulas for soft drinks is their true value and can always be used as a source of revenue.
I think the flip side of the coin is who would YOU be if Justin, Sanford, Arturo, Fighting GM and Yipes left Empire? How would you continue to do “business” as a powerhouse in the gaming community? If fighting games went commercial tomorrow and Justin got signed to Nike or more realistically Capcom. He would end up getting a REAL agent to manage him and would end up paying you money to satisfy whatever contract you had at that time and he would go and do his own thing. Im not saying he would forget about you or his friends, but Justin is a very smart man and he knows at the end of the day he has to worry about himself above everyone else because thats just the reality of how the world works…
Not to nit pick but this statement implies that you sprinkled Justin with magic Kokiri dust that made him as good as he is. Im sure thats not what you ment by it simply because everyone knows it just isnt true. I think things like this are sort of why people just dont know how to feel about you sometimes. I personally dont know you so im not looking to attack you in any way. At the same time i am probably just as curious as everyone else is to know exactly why you feel the need to paint yourself as some kind of saving grace or messiah to a community that would probably be in reletively the same place if Empire never existed. All it seems like your doing is building pyramids off other peoples backs and calling them your lifes work. Just my 2 pennies… :wonder:
