Nice vid Possum. I was thinking of slapping something together for ST. (never done an ST tutorial before) I just don’t have a great way to record my matches. I could just go to Supercade and record my replays I guess but there is more comp on GGPO.
BTW, any footage of you in my vids was merely coincidence! I think you’re one of the coolest dudes I’ve met online and I wouldn’t go out of my way to try and make you look bad. Besides, if I ever get back on XBL, you have my permission to upload any and all footage you want of your Honda slapping me around! lol
For now, you can still find me on GGPO once in a while.
Hey, does anybody have any tips for cancelling a crouching medium kick into a roundhouse tiger knee in hdr? I can do this standing easily, but a lot of sagat’s cross-ups require you to cancel the crouching medium kick into the roundhouse tiger in a very specific way. Usually, I just hold down/forward and then do a subtle move to forward, and then to down, followed by down/forward. I understand this sequence, but I want to be able to nail this without thinking about it. Keep in mind, I’m using a hori pad or a madcatz pad for this. Are there any pad warriors who can give me some advice for this? Do I just need to practice this repetitively, or am I doing it wrong?
There’s no real trick to doing it. You’ll just have to practice the motion. It requires some pretty fast hands to do it the standard way. But here are the ways that everyone uses:
[LIST]
[]Hold any down position, press cr.MK, neutral, forward, down, down-forward, HK. Requires fairly rapid inputs to make it work, but it’s very reliable. Generally, returning to neutral after any motion guaranteeds accuracy for special move input.
[]Press forward, down, press cr.MK, down-forward, HK. This buffers the tiger knee motion as part of the combo. It requires good timing on your part, but allows your left-hand some more time to do the input.
[*]If you want to use the old method of doing a tiger knee motion, you can simply do cr.mk, down-forward, forward, up-forward, HK.

You should definitely do the vids Decoy (I don’t have any way of recording on GGPO either, wish I did). Your vids have always been my favorite SF2 vids. For the newer people here who haven’t seen any of Decoy’s videos I went searching and found a few of my favorites, one is from SF2 HF but it’s still one of my all time favorites (I miss those days sometimes). Awesome music in them also (plus I love the slo-mo replays).
