Apparently Tim Miller drops out of DP2 over dispute with Ryan Reynolds.

He was the director of the first film. This doesn’t bode well for the sequel. Fox is shipping him away to do something else now.
Miller wanted a more stylized sequel while Reynolds wanted to keep the raunxhy, fourth wall breaking tone of the original. He also didn’t like Kyle Chandler as Cable (and Chandler is out by the way).
Kyle Chandler would make for a terrible Cable. They need to cast an old guy for him.

Once more, I won’t be happy 'till Cable is 14 feet tall at 800 lbs of muscle with like a million pouches, 80 guns and a shitton of useless gear just as GOD intended him to be!

Yeah, this is news is a bit disheartening, though I personally did expect there to be at least some problems with the sequel after the first movie’s vast success since FOX cannot resist meddling. I am thus surprised that the first roadblock we here about it is a spat between the now-previous director and Ryan Reynolds himself, even though I can agree with Reynolds wanting to keep the tone of the original movie.
Hmmm…I wonder if this means that Stephen Lang has another serious shot at being Cable then, especially in light of Don’t Breathe’s success.

The only thing that might bug me about Stephen Lang being Cable is that Reynolds is taller.
(I am sure that they can easily make a joke out of that though, even if it’s just in the way of having him wear lifts and never showing his feet. The Liefeld joke writes itself there.)
It’s note even like Ryan Reynolds is that much taller though, right? Either way, Stephen Lang is not that much shorter than either Reynolds or Cable, so it would not be another instance of what happened with Wolverine where Hugh Jackman is basically one entire foot taller than Wolverine’s short Canadian ass actually is (or was) in comics in addition to being taller than James “I only play losers for some reason” Marsden.
Wait what if they got Hugh Jackman to play Cable? That way they could take the piss out of his past role as wolverine lol. I dont see why Deadpool and the current X-men really have to be the same universe.

That and I could see people somewhat rightly bitching that Hugh Jackman was hijacking another movie.
What about Henry Rollins? Hes got that crazed look in his eye, cable has to look like hes seen some shit IMO lol
Or even better, the dude who plays The Hound on Game of Thrones (if he can do an american accent) … Brock Lesnar would be pretty great too if he could act.
