PG-13 - http://comicbook.com/2014/09/20/deadpool-movie-will-reportedly-be-rated-pg-13/
One of the biggest questions that fans have had since Fox officially announced a Deadpool movie is whether it will be PG-13 or R-Rated. While those who have read the original script insist that the script is R-Rated, the most recent reports suggest that the script has been reworked to make it work as PG-13.
In a just-released Meet the Movie Press, SchmoesKnowâs Mark Reilly claims that he has it straight from director Tim Miller that they figured out how to make the movie PG-13. Reilly said, âI heard from the director that they finally figured out the script, and it was right before this was announced, that they figured outâŚand you guys are all going to hate thisâŚthey figured out how to make it PG-13. And therefore not lose its soulâŚthatâs a quoteâŚof the script, so that they can make it. Look guys, it looks like Deadpoolâs going to be PG-13.â
Of course, Deadpool creator Robert Liefeld has hinted as much in the past. Back in July before the Deadpool movie was even officially announced, Liefeld tweeted, âSo much mis-information from the mis-informed in regards to Deadpool film. The version under review is a PG-13 version, not an R⌠The brilliant screenplay has been equally brilliantly modified⌠R is not a blockade any longer.â
With the track-record of recent R-Rated comic book movies in comparison to PG-13 rated comic book movies, itâs not difficult to understand why Fox would want it to be PG-13. On the plus side, the PG-13 rating could lead to a higher budget for Deadpool, since the film will be able to play to a wider audience.
On the negative side, a lot of fans want a R-Rated Deadpool movie and look what happened to The Expendables when that series went to a PG-13 rating against the wishes of many fans (of course that film leaking online didnât help either). Still, just because the film gets a wide-release PG-13 rating in theaters, doesnât mean that fans wouldnât get to see an R-Rated version on Blu-ray eventually.
Fingers crossed for the R-rated Bluray, but not a bullshit R-rated version like The Wolverine.
pg13 deadpool can eat bags of diccs
BAGS
A Deadpool movie can still be good as PG13, but that definitely puts a serious ceiling on its potential.
Trying to think of a character who is extremely violent in their comics, that has been made into a successful PG13 movie.

Seriously, guysâŚtheyâve gotten away with some seriously fucked-up shit in just pg movies. Iâve seen shit in pg13 movies that make me wonder just how many 13 year olds out there are mentally fucked. Thatâs too young for blood spray, dismemberments and decaps IMO, but hey, it seems pg13 is the new R, from just what Iâve seen in the last 13 years. The only thing pg13 doesnât seem to allow is graphic sex and rape. Then again, Iâm an 80âs child. Iâve watched standards slide farther and farther as Iâve aged, and I say to you, pg13 wonât really hurt this movieâs content unless a rape was a central part of the plot.
pg-13? goodbye dick jokesâŚits only redeemable if deadpool makes some reference with disney buying out marvel as the reason for it

WhoopsâŚforgot about the Disney buyoutâŚmainly because the comics remain unaffected. Well, the directorâs cut dvd ought to be good, right?

You can get away with alot in PG-13 these days. I wouldnât worry too much about it, long as the script doesnât suck I think weâre good to go
Years later and Deadpool is still wack as fuck.
Script writer Rhett Reese says the filmâs movie rating is yet to be decided
So yeahâŚthis is really going to happen.

Alright Reynolds, this is finally your shot at redemption. The project youâve been fighting to greenlight and headline for years. Now go and kill it.

^ Ryan Reynolds is fucking awesome in everything he is in.
PG-13 isnât a death sentence. Guardians of the Galaxy was PG-13, and had swearing, killing, sexual innuendoâs, and more.
Just means that Deadpool canât put a severed head on the end of his sword, like in the trailer, at least without some camera tricks. And it means less blood when he gets all stabby stabby.

lol hadnât thought about it like that but yeh it seems obvious Marvel killing off these characters is to not give Fox free advertising.

âŚthe fact the movie is set to start shooting, and Marvel kills off the character, a la Wolverine and the Fantastic Four, is irrelevantâŚ?
