I dont think the primary issues with those games revolve around the graphics lol. And I think you know that.

I’ll be the first to say Blazblue seems amazing at first, but its really pretty disappointing once you really get into it. SRK didnt fall for the hype.

what are everyone’s suggestions for improving the gameplay of doa? even though doa isn’t that ‘good’ i can still have some fun playing it so a good doa game would be really nice

I’ll be the judge of that once it hits console. Resets are so easy a child could do them, leading to what seems like endless juggles, which wouldnt be that big a deal if OTG was so fucking slow, they lay there like forever.

I mean. Who am I to complain tho? I play Rachel, Nu, Arakune.

Tecmo should just play it safe and keep it exactly the same as 3.1 or 4.0 and just add new characters with the EXACT SAME MECHANICS.

Otherwise, it’s gonna end up crappy if they try any funny stuff.

Dunno about that, they might want to take some kind of risk and try something new. Otherwise they won’t get any new players. The people who complain or hated the previous DOA mechanics will hate DOA5’s as well…

I say they take a risk and try something new. Like I’m not a fan of how much health parries take off, nor do I like the fact that people can use parries while they are already getting combo’d… Maybe they could change that (or maybe that’s best for the game? I don’t have much knowledge of DOA). But from what I’ve experienced, I can’t make sense of the DOA4 combo system since it seems like you are in danger even if you are the one combo’ing…

If DoA remains the same then the game is doomed. To be taken serious that is. “High Level” DoA play consists of mashing on the counter grab button until it catches. Ill tell you why DOA sucks:

That in instelf makes the entire game a big fucking joke. And before someone chimes in with “they reduced the damage on counters” Im here to tell you it still takes to much. This isnt a game where ridiculous damage is off of a meter you have been collecting the entire round, this is from jump street. From the second they announcer says FIGHT you can counter grab into izuna drop with Hayate for damn near 40% of you lifebar.

lool The players that play DOA at a high level tends to mix up their opponent and try to bate them to do something wrong.

For Example, PPPK can be very easy to counter. Instead of doing that, You would do PP and then they will try to counter it but they miss it. From there, you can either Grab them, Lauch your opponent or you can still keep on doing your mix up game.

The Improvements that I want to see in DOA5 are the following:

Wake ups System= When someone is getting up and do a High, Medium or Low wake up kick, you will get a hit (but don’t get stun) or the kick will push you away (if its a Med or High) rather than getting hit by a wake up kick and your in stun.

Grabs = Grabs are a bit strange in DOA4

Counters = Some counters in DOA4 does to much damage. Just need to turn down the damage just a little IMOSidesteps= Was useless in DOA4.

Stun = Less Stun

Better New Characters = Put Rio in the game and a Shoto Type character in the game. Also make Alpha 152 Playable

Ayume has a cannon drill. Kasumi has a flash kick. Jan Lee has a chickenwing/flying kick.

Hurricane Rev dont waste your time. Theres really no need to go in depth about a system when its pretty superficial to begin with. I have no problem playing the game for fun, but its just all kinds of unnecessarily to give it more depth than it deserves. I gave you 3 fatal flaws of Dead Or Alive’s system. You yourself just reduced the game to a series of 2 and 3 hit sequences making many of the games attacks useless.

But I mean what the hell. You post videos of the best female DoA player, and shes getting trashed with piss poor execution. lol.

Kayane is hands down the best female that plays fighting games. IMO. She only plays Soul Calibur to my knowledge tho.

I don’t mind wasting time :bgrin:. Sorry If I went to in depth about the system. I was explaining to him how the game plays in high level. But what do you mean that it is kind of unnecessarily to give it more depth than it deserves? Every game has depth. Whether it is DOA, Smash, Tekken, VF or Street Fighter. I agree with you about the 3 fatal flaws but I didn’t reduced the game to limit series of hit sequences. I was giving an example of what the players tend to do. Also, How can you say that MANY attacks are useless in this game when you play this game casually?? MANY attacks in DOA are useful.

LOOL Well, I don’t know how good she is in other games but all I know is that she is a BEAST when it comes to DOA. I think I need to find better matches >_<
