Eh, where I come from, it’s called ‘trolling’ when you post in a video thread saying “this video sucks.” Also, I didn’t neg him because his opinion differs from mine. I actually negged him because I tend to find his posts preachy and self-important, which pisses me off.
And where I come from, that’s the purpose of a forum. For discussion. He brought discussion other than blindly saying, “GOOD JOB ON YOUR NEW AND ORIGINAL FIND MAN! :tup:”
And you’re coming off quite the same as you just accused him of.
Being articulate and stern isn’t self-important, nor is it the mark of an overinflated ego(something I could never have). Using three paragraphs to convey a point you could make in three sentences is both of those things. He didn’t come into the thread to discuss jack-shit. He came into the thread to deliver a blatant insult. There’s no need for that, and there’s no need for me to continue this discussion.
Actually I DID come in here to potentially discuss something. I gave my opinion, I backed it up. I stated that it’s okay that people like it and maybe I was just being a bitter old man. I also complimented Monty as being a talented animator. While I reprimanded Valaris for a lousy defense, I said that I am not necessarily ‘right’. When I found out Monty was on this forms and was offended, I apologized for my tone (though still standing by my core criticisms).
Heck, when I made that post I wasn’t expecting it to even be such a big deal (and I don’t think it would of been if Monty wasn’t from these parts). I am admittedly heavy handed, but that doesn’t automatically mean ‘troll’.
If I was a troll, wouldn’t be easy to say “This video sucks and you’re all stupid for liking it?” And call Monty a talentless hack when he revealed himself?

If people want to hate on my opinion or neg rep me (Like it matters at this point. :D) thats fine. If people wnat to discuss and disagree, thats better! But saying I’m simply trying to start trouble? Puuu-lese, sista! You haven’t even watched the videos!
I’d guess that you’re clearly bias because of haloid and being a Metroid fangirl. But I don’t let my own metroid fandom get in the way of my opinion. If having a thought out and developed opinion is being self important… Well fuck. I’m on the wrong forum.
It’s mostly the preachy nature of your post that lead me to neg rep you. It reminded me of Entertainment Weekly, who I can’t fucking stand. You’re backing up your opinions quite well, and I doubt that I’ll ever neg rep you again unless the quality of your posts takes a drastic turn for the worse. To be honest, I don’t care enough about Monty Oum, Haloid, or even Metroid to neg-rep someone over it. If I did, I’d have negged Stuart Hayden about ten times now. He hates Metroid to bits.
We don’t need to bitch at each other any more. The fact of the matter is that I’m a harsh person on SRK and I neg people when I feel like it, for whatever reason pops into my head, and aside from complaining, there’s nothing you can do about it. On the other hand, judging by your original post saying that the videos suck because of “pacing” in a video that only exists to be a dream match for fanboys to fap to in the first place, you’re an overly harsh critic. Since you seem to be a pretty smart dude, I’d assume that by now you’d have the experience to know that when someone posts a video that they like, you’re going to get some flak if you say the video’s complete garbage. I don’t need to watch Dead Fantasy to know that.
I really didn’t care about the neg repping. I cared about being dismissed as a troll,. I’m not too concerned about people throwing red boxes at me. I thought I’d probably catch some flak, just not quite near the level of what I got. It’s certainly more obvious in retrospect though. 
Anyways, while I respectfully disagree with the importance of pacing in a video of that length, I am perfectly fine at laying this issue to rest.
Funny that since it does make a bit more common sense to create a thread about the video just in case new people havent viewed the video.
It’d be more common sense to post in the old thread then.
