A lot of the writing is forced to move the plot forward. A few examples:
-Letting Rip escape with the spear when he’s right in front of everyone.
-Reverse Flash not being able to phase through the bank vault for… reasons.
-Reverse Flash preaching to Barry in Flash that he shouldn’t mess with the timeline but Reverse Flash fucked it up way more than Barry ever did lol.
-Legends saying that they shouldn’t modify the timeline in any way and to protect it as much as they can. Yet they change various little things because of … reasons.
I think letting Rip escape with the spear because it’s Christmas is far dumber.
Thawne didn’t phrase through the vault because his “time” was up. It got locked in there during a period where death flash will be hunting for him.
Thawne plan was to rewrite all of the reality. Who gives a shit about time when you can change reality on a whim. His time fuckary is likely to keep the Legends off his trail. It did take them half the season to figure out it was him.
Reverse Flash fucking up the timeline at least made sense then. If he didn’t, he’s basically allowing his death and the only thing he wanted was to survive. Plus his goal was the Spear of Destiny which would’ve made sure he could keep time from getting fucked too hard.
that was ridiculous. But alot of what the Legends do are detriments to themselves in their mission with/without Rip. That final go was pretty sweet, though. Almost like watching an episode of Justice League with all the hokey talking between characters squaring off and interrupting each other’s matchups. Thawn’s definitely not one to fuck with. Especially by keeping the Legends as minions.
Not sure if I understood the wish of Snart. So, you can rob banks… that you already own… and cops can’t do anything to you? Not sure if that actually computes. I can’t be the only one who doesn’t really get it.
Thinking about this season of Legends it just occurred to me that Rip having the Spear of Destiny is a huge plot hole. Last season he formed the Legends and willing to fuck up history so he can kill Savage before he can kill his family. Come season 2 he was in possession of a weapon that can rewrite reality and he didn’t use to bring back his family. Errr…what?
Firestorm getting taken down by an arrow? Isnt he pure energy?
The JSA are scattered through time at the end but whatever (and Rip killed one in 3000)
Amaya stays on the ship for dick love despite all the cautions of remaining out of her time and the effect on her grandaughter et al
All those Reverse Flashes and yet they werent smart enough to disable Sara?
Pros:
MORTAL KOMBAAAT moment again. Did Ed Boon write this episode too?
Rip admitting the team works better without him. I dont hate him , but I hope S3 doesnt have a search for RIp story again.
I was hoping Nate would leave somehow. He is too similar to Ray, and I liked the Ray/Mick interaction earlier in the season better.
interesting finale, but the whole “let’s punish the bad guys by letting them get killed off in their own timeline” thing got me bothered. Merlin should have been off-ed. Just kill this guy now. Oliver’s just going let him wreck shit yet forgive him yet again. If Merlin had a Zodd-to-Gatts complex with Oliver, I’d see the point. Malcolm feels like a joke villain now more than ever, and not a very good one at that. If he’s just going to get drunk, why not just axe him completely? Or is there something I don’t understand?
Not their job to kill him. If Ollie wants him dead or not, that’s his issue to deal with. They only need to worry about the timeline, which without Thawne, Merlyn is a non-factor.
