Heh, spent a big amount of time figuring out who everyone was in that big Battle For the Cowl teaser. Solicits already revealed that gun-toting Batman is Jason Todd so I was right about that one.
Hush with Damian - Hush had his face surgically altered to look like Bruce Wayne. The hint is the mummy wrapping on his leg. I think that’s Damian just 'cuz I think Tim is elsewhere. My guess is everyone only appears once in the drawing.
Batwoman - Not sure who is wearing the outfit, could be Barbara (big rumor going around that she will walk again), Cassandra, or the 52 Lesbo Batwoman, hmm…
Gun toting Batman - Solicits gave away that it’s Jason Todd. Could be a trick I guess.
Two-Face Batman - Um, Two-Face…
Batman - I think that’s Nightwing’s Batman outfit for this storyline. Just a hunch, I suppose because the Batman symbol on his chest resembles Nightwing’s symbol… KINDA…

Took them freaking long enough, I mean heck that sexy artbook from Jim Lee could only keep people waiting for ASB&R for long enough.
Just read Battle for the Cowl, it was pretty good! The writing was better than I expected, though not great, and there was plenty of action.

Was not expecting to see Squire, that was nice! And it looks like it is lesbo Batwoman as Barbara is still in the chair and Cassandra is still Batgirl. Still wonder what the hell the lollipop Batwoman had in the teaser image means… We already saw Tim Drake in his Batman outfit so yep he is the one in the teaser image with the staff riding the motorcycle. Yeah even without the spoiling solicits, super obvious gun toting Batman is Jason Todd since he has been using Bruce Wayne’s old Bat equipment. Can’t wait to see what will happen next. Needs more Joker lol! At least Harlequin will pop up according to the teaser.
I just found out that Ethan Van Sciver is going to be in town to do a signing the week that Flash: Rebirth comes out! Its at the rival comic store to my usual one, but I’ll probably just pick up a few copies from my store to bring over there and get signed. I’ve never been to a signing… kinda excited, actually. Unfortunately, I don’t have much else to get signed, anything else that he’s done I read in trades that I checked out from the library.
You’re not the only one (regarding the spoiler), he’d actually be my pick, although he hasn’t really earned the right over Dick, I just like Tim better.
I think that this issue proves that Tim is far better suited for the job anyway. Dick is being overly stubborn and refusing to do what needs to be done. Time gets the job done without hesitation. The fact of the matter is, Dick left his life as Batman’s replacement far behind in order to become something else. In the meantime, Tim is, in every way that matters, the son of the Batman, and is probably the best suited replacement. Besides, as I said before, Tim is a far better detective than Dick. I’m not trying to say that Dick isn’t awesome; he is. But he’s his own awesome. He’s not Batman material.
I’m rooting for Dick Grayson, but I wouldn’t mind Tim or have anything against it.
Wow I didn’t know Kevin Conroy AND Mark Hamill will be providing the voices of Batman and Joker in the upcoming Arkham Asylum video game! Please don’t let the game suck…
I think Grayson should get the cowl, Tim may be the better detective, but Grayson is the better everything else. He’s the eldest son of the Dark Knight, and as seen in the Outsiders tie in in his fight with Cassandra, I don’t think he’s hesitant to do what needs to be done, I think he’s trying to achieve an equivalent, since he believes no one is good enough to replace Bruce and he doesn’t want to disgrace Batman’s legacy. It was one thing in Prodigal because he was just a stand-in, but since Bruce is “dead” or whatever, to him its a permanent replacement. Even though we the readers know damn well he’s more than capable of doing the job right. We’ve seen on more than one occasion Grayson going the extra mile to get things done so I don’t think that’s the problem.
Then again as long as it IS Tim or Grayson and not Jason Todd it’ll be fine.
That’s all I ask, but yeah as you can see I’m rooting for Grayson, he’s the original Robin, most experienced, and would probably be the most effective due to his leadership skills, plus all the build up toward him becoming more and more like Bruce going to naught would make me feel like I wasted my money on the RIP issues and the Last Rites 2 parter with him and the face of gotham chick.
Just finished looking at the Wonder Woman film. It was solid film but of course it is not like Bruce Timm fails at this type of stuff. Keri Russel done a great job as wonder woman. Rosario Dawson was great to.
As for Batman: BFTC i enjoyed it and i hope dick becomes Batman and I hope that it is for good. It is refreshing a new direction is happening with Batman. I guess the death of steve rogers probably has something to do with this. As i read a number of characters i have never seen before but still solid. I probably need to get R.I.P to see what happened but from what i understand that Final Crisis is the start of this?
That’s messed up that you guys spoiled Battle for the Cowl already for me but saying Jason Todd’s the new gun-toting Batman. I thought there were spoiler rules in this forum. Doesn’t matter if you pulled them from advanced solicitations - that’s why I don’t read advanced solicitations.
Spoilers are a big reason I don’t even like to read any threads on this forum if I haven’t gotten to a book I want to read…but now it’s like I can’t even avoid spoilers if I wanted to.
But after the teaser image who did you think it was, Azrael? :looney: JT’s like the only Robin to bust out guns when he was doing his villain thing. Hmm Nightwing was a cop and Teen Titans future Tim Drake Batman is packing heat, but did you think they started blasting people? They are not Bucky…
