I’m kind of upset about Rucka leaving DC. Mostly because Rucka/J.H. Williams’ run on Detective Comics was so damn good. I mean, think about it: Rucka and Williams managed to take Batwoman–one of the most flat, uninteresting characters from the trainwreck that was 52–and managed to make her pretty interesting. It helped that J.H. Williams’ art was probably some of the best comic book art I’ve ever seen.
But yeah, it’s sad to see Rucka go. At least he left behind some good stuff, like GCPD and his work on Montoya’s Question.
The new TBATB issue #33 was like… damm
The all issue i’m like “why the hell am i reading this crap” about Wonderwoman Zatana and Batgirl go clubbing
But the end realy caught me off guard
I picked it up because I saw JMS’ name on the cover and wanted to get a feel of how his WW will be. Well if it is going to be like this then I’m really looking forward to it. However, one minor gripe…
Brave And The Bold
Spoiler
LOL why oh why was there an Iphone in a story that happened that long ago? This is like Robin and Kid Flash sending Instant Messages in Teen Titans year 1! Oh well, 10 years from now, our time with DC’s sliding time scale this will all make sense I guess. :looney: Anyway the tie in to Killing Joke was very nice.
I didn’t like it till the ending after that i was like "yeah it’s great"
another huge issue in DC best series on the stands
too bad Saiz didn’t do the art for this one
Cosign, B&R 12 was GREAT.
Didn’t really like War of the Supermen though =/
Secret Six #21 was fantastic tho, it’s nice to see that Ragdoll is such a ladies’ man.
I gave up on Supes ever since Robinson took the handle (well actuly after the all New Krypton event the Johns’ one)
I’ll pick it up again when JMS will take over
As Good as Geoff Johns is… I’m kinda scared about him Burning out… since he’ll be bringing the entire DCU with him.
JMS and Grant Morrison are excellent writers (Maybe even better scripters or plotters than Johns) in their own right but I don’t think neither of them were universal Visionaries like Johns is. AT least with Marvel, Mark Millar and Bendis are BOTH good writers AND Visionaries THAT gets along (I dunno if you would still add Loeb to the equation but that’s a different argument)
In DC it’s almost all Johns with now Robinson kinda shadowing him/acting like a failsafe. and the creative directions for the various DC books which although some of them might be good looks like it’s completely distanced from each other.
Didio-t and DC Entertainment should find a way on how to both give all these creative people enough creative freedom so they remain happy and motivated to produce quality work YET still in coordination with how it all benefits the big picture of the DCU. Kinda hard when creative juices and different opinions create conflicts of Interests but Marvel has almost always been better than them at that… so thy should step up.
