The more I read this thread the more I don’t want there to be another Vampire or Darkstalkers.
Truth time, I was never big on fighters. I just got into them a couple years ago, I always knew about Marvel vs Capcom and Street Fighter but never actually actively played them. Shortly after I discovered Darkstalkers through a good friend and was instantly hooked, no fighting game has ever “clicked” for me like Vampire Savior did. I still don’t understand why more people don’t play it, call me a bias but I just find VSAV 100x more interesting than most fighting games out there.
I really do love SF, but DS is easily my favorite IP by them. I even went out of my way to buy the art books too.
Rather similar here. I had a religious-like stance on fighters, but no local arcades and the only machines having no players limited exp. GGPO is the cure.
The machine that has it near me is constantly broken or the buttons are stuck or some other malady. Plus, no one wants to play (not like they can, P1’s :mp: and :mk: buttons don’t work).
What a waste.
You should talk to the owner into buying the CPS2 board and save it from being useless.
That’s a shame.
Apparently a golf course near my hometown area had a Vampire Savior arcade cabinet, but it closed down years ago. I didn’t know what Vampire was back then either, pretty ironic in a kind of unlucky way.
Heh, if I had the money and space, I would. All I can do now is see if I can talk to the manager about taking better care of their machines or leaving notes on the cab itself.
Any particular reason why you feel this way?
I’ve been playing all kinds of fighters for a long time since X-Men vs Street Fighter(with the exception of KOF games), but I didn’t know much of anything about Darkstalkers until a year ago when MvC3 came out. Savior is better than anything out today(imo of course) and the characters are more imaginative than anything I’ve seen from Capcom in a while. The sense of speed, pacing and reward is great in this game and I don’t see myself dropping it even if legendary AFK GGPO Savior is replaced with a mediocre portjob for the HD consoles.
I believe that piece is done by that Kinu Nishimura lady. She’s pretty high up there on my all time favorite list and that looks like her style, sorta.
Translation: I love and know much more about the Darkstalker franchise than any of these FGD scrubs thus I must talk down and feel/show my superiority because I am the true ‘Vampire(franchise) Savior’
I play alot of VampSav, im not really hyped for a reboot of the series either.
Its gonna be SF4 with subtle system changes and different characters just like the relationship between sf2 and darkstalkers1, and lets be honest, ds1 is really only memorable for the characters, not the gameplay.
So basically, its gonna be a game that caters to the people who liked SF4, but also really like the girl characters from darkstalkers. (looking @ mvc3’s darkstalkers reps)
Hope im wrong, but id be foolish to hold my breath on this one.
This game needs to be in the same state as SF4.
Including more new characters.
I’m not sure what you mean by “same state as SF4”.
Whatever it is it’s probably boring to watch.
The madness continues.
I called this day 1.
Shows over folks nothing to see here. Another great series ruined. RIP Darkstalkers.
Good news Ono won’t be part of the industry anymore. SNKP, Arc System Works, French Bread, Crafts & Meister, Examu, Arika, and more are going to hate him even more now.
Only the Kof12 producer liked sf4 and he was the only one that wanted a cvs3, but he was fired awhile ago.
ewwww
Is a game for 3DS maybe : /
Too much hate and salt going on in this thread, I thought the news would receive a more positive response.
maybe because the words ono, and sf4 bring more fear and disapointment than joy for many
