DARKSTALKERS RESURRECTION coming to XBLA and PSN

I dont want to mash HK

On a stick ? sliding

Okay time to go in on some of the programming of the game.

Tech hitting
A frame after you block an attack a timer starts counting down it lasts about 10 frames (Due to Turbo). The said timer will restart if another blocked attack happens while in that state you’ll keep your presses as well.

The second part the button presses here is the random number generator part while you’re in this state the game looks up a table with values 3 to 6. This value is used for the number of button presses for a successful push block to happen(It usually gets 4 as the value).

Also, the hitting two buttons at once only equals one input.

Slide your finger(s) from LK to HP hitting each successive button(without hitting a punch and kick simultaneously) as you slide.

aw thanks I’ll try that now

I asked BAS and the hand motion he showed me was almost like a plink.

How the FUCK do you do the Aulbath dash cancel?

Man that dash link is way to hard. I could never get the link after the dash cancel in the final challenge.

learnin’ a lot on defense

I ain’t even trying to get that 5th challenge… I can’t get the second one.

I just got done watching an episode of Real Talk that was linked to a Capcom Developers Round Table. Most of the points on the video pretty much sync up with my thoughts.

Capcom’s sales expections for Vampire Resurrection were ridiculous. IF they wanted 2million+ downloads, let alone 1million+, they should have ported HD versions of SF Alpha 2 Gold and SF Alph 3 together as “Alpha Generations release”, OR re-released X-Men: COTA and X-Men Vs SF (and possibly bundled MSH vs SF with the X-Men games). Porting two less popular series like Darkstalkers and Marvel Super Heroes (MSH + MvC1) was not the best idea in retrospect.

I wouldn’t bother with a Street Fighter Alpha 1 re-release. It’s not a very good game and it’s the least revisited SF Alpha release. Most of us like the other two games far better and they’re what’s played in tourneys. The X-Men characters are very popular, COTA has never had a decent home console port with ALL the animation intact, and the other two VS games are far more popular than Marvel Vs Capcom 1 was or at least more fun in many people’s opinions.

Fact of the matter is that Darkstalkers was most popular in Japan and even there NONE of the games sold over a million copies on disc despite the fact that 2 and 3 were top-grossing arcade games for 3 years on-end.

I couldn’t find exact sales figures for the titles but I recollect that NONE of the Darkstalkers games sold anything over 600,000 copies on the Saturn alone. That’s for Japan alone; US sales must have been in the toilet by comparison on BOTH Saturn AND PS1. The fact that Capcom hasn’t bothered to show total sum figures for the series (on console) speaks a lot for the sales.

The sales figures I remembered didn’t pop up when I looked for them, The figure I found online for Vampire Hunter (Saturn release) was 340,000. The Street Fighter Alpha series releases were at least 4-6 times higher PER title – and that’s on the PS1 alone.

As for Capcom’s in-house sales figures, here’s what they admitted off of the Japanese site; it’s been translated into Engrish through the magic of Google Translate

Capcom sales according to their records =

Capcom’s top-selling title of all time was the original Street Fighter II cartridge release on the Super Famicon/Super NES console; worldwide figures are 6.3 million to date as December 31st last year.

Street Fighter IV has sold 3.2million copies for XBox 360/PS3 cumulative.

I looked through the million sellers’ list Capcom has and NOWHERE did any of the Vampire/Darkstalkers games pop up…

Top Selling Game Series =

Street Fighter total = 34million copies, all releases
*
Resident Evil* = 56million copies, all releases

The MegaMan series has sold 29million copies, all releases.

If Capcom or ANY other company has to sell 2million copies for any software title to break even now, then it’s time to rethink how they spend money developing games!

Damn, tech hitting on a single attack is HARD.
How do they tech so quickly???

you anticipate the attack. no one tech hits single attacks on reaction.

Nobody plays A2 Gold. Vanilla A2 is tge tournament standard. Also MSHvSF is straight up shit.

If they did A2 regular with the added characters from gold (Sak’s colors, O.Gief/Ryu/Ken/Sim/ugg… someone else too, and Cammy, I’d be down with that.
Just no Shin Akuma in ranked, and I’m a happy camper.

After going through most of the trials, I’m really starting to think that mastering much of this game requires a stick! Many of the trials, Morrigan especially, required me to lay my Hori Cmd Pro III on the table and use it like the aforementioned stick.

I think I’d be the best player on Earth if there as a stick with a giant D-Pad.

dyne manages pad. perhaps u can ask him. he is on ggpo 24/7

I was playing the ggpo version of this game and it seems slower than the PSN release (VS Turbo 3). I was wondering if anyone else was feeling this? A friend of mine was saying the same thing too.

Final Burn Alpha runs cps2 games too fast so of course the game is slower cause it’s the actual speed.

The game is actually faster on GGPO…
