Zwei is decent as quality. Though Astora Greatsword is probably the best UGS for that
Just Refined for massive damage. Scaling always makes Quality builds hit harder than Pure anything

Ultra Greatswords (or any of those really slow weapons) always make me sad in DS3. The butchering of poise severely affected how much fun I was able to have with them.
They can still armour through most things and can’t be parried if 2 handed. I like the Stomp skill a fair bit as well, it’s fun.
Not a UGS but for a bit of late game fun Twin Princes Greatsword might be interesting. I’m going to need to experiment with a few different weapons.
I’ve started pvping. Level 70 as Aldriches faithful. What’s the best area for consistent ganks? Is 125 still pvp endgame or do people just overlevel and troll an arena like Tichy?

There’s a healthy amount of players at all levels, seemingly. I haven’t had trouble finding people in the arena at level 250, but within the actual world you run into a lot less people obviously.
As far as I’m aware, for PvP within the world people usually stick between 115-125. If you want to do some really silly ganking shenanigans, I would also recommend getting a decent build to (no higher than 60) and fucking around with the Wolf Blood Covenant. There’s tons of low level traffic coming through that area usually, so as long as your soul level and weapon range matches up you’ll see a lot of invasions.
I heard Farron was like level 40 and +3? Sounds like a zone for Twinks and not a main character. More interested in main character world pvp
At level 70 I have 20 vigor, 10 attunement, 24 endurance, 20 vitality and the rest spread between strength and Dex. 10 int and faith.
Running Refined Zweilhander +7, full Lothric Knights, Parry dagger, Carthus Flame Axe. I have favor, cloranthy, havels and llyods sword ring.
So far PvP is pretty free. I trade favourably with everything so mostly I just super armour through attacks and spam people dead. Stomp and the 1h running R1 and charge r2 are great for mixing things up.
Is Prisoner’s Chains worth it? 15 levels is a lot but taking more damage doesn’t sound fun. I’m hearing a lot of mixed things on forums.
Taking more damage is never worth it.
Also more health, more vitality so better armour. It’s a wierd item. Is more damage necessarily more damage factoring all of that in?
I think in general the stats gained do not outweight the damage coming in and there are just better items in general that give you benefits without making you take extra damage. The only item that makes you take more damage that is kinda “worth” it is the ring that gives you more invul frames on your dodge because it becomes really, really annoying to hit you in PvP. Even then it’s more of a troll item since a mistake causes you to take so much extra damage.

Prisoner’s chain is almost always worth it unless you are fairly high level or can’t spare a ring slot (caster build), it gives you more effective health than you lose from the extra damage taken (which is only like 3% iirc) in addition to the increased equip load and endurance.
See this is what I mean. Two completely different responses. Seems that way everywhere but I can’t find hard calcs to back up either argument
Prisoner’s chain is ABSOLUTELY worth it at low level, like 60 or below. It has diminishing returns since it’s most efficient and effective use is when you don’t even have that stats to reach soft or hard caps in stats. At that early in the game all the weapons are weak too, so even with taking a bit extra damage, it doesn’t mean much if you are invading, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. Still useful in PvE too, but again, not past a certain level, and by the time you get it naturally, any physical build doesn’t need it at all
I’m currently 40 endurance, strength, dex. 10 int, faith, attunement, 15 vitality and 7 luck. Rest of the points are just going into vigor, it’s about 20 currently.
Not sure what will be the best final build rings. I’m thinking Havels, Favor, Cloranthy but past that I don’t know. Wolf or Life ring might be okay, Speckled Stoneplate or Steel Protection could work.
Gael can go fuck himself, still trying to kill him
Friede fight was awesome but a bit too easy in the final phase
Greatwolf felt kinda disappointing
The Spear of the Church fight was interesting, reminded me of the Old Monk from Demon’s Souls. Can’t quite figure out how do you join the covenant to do invasions yourself (do you just use the red eye stone?)
The “show your humanity” secret/puzzle was REALLY clever, well done FromSoft
If you wanna do Spear invasions on the regular, you need to beat Midir. He’s the hitpoint-sponge gigantihuge dragon boss in the hidden area.
You CAN still get summoned if you leave a white or (I think) red sign, or if you’re doing regular invasions. If you don’t feel like killing Midir, then (he’s pretty tough), you can leave a white sign somewhere really out of the way where you’re less likely to be summoned.
Mind you, if you wanna do regular Spear invasions you will either want an anti-gank build (heavy weapons and such) or heal spells. You get pretty strong if the player has summoned phantoms, but a good party will demolish your helpers pretty fast, and then you’re without any kind of healing.
Looks like I’ll have to spend more time in the Ringed City to actually find the bastard
