My guess is a mix of DT Rising Sun (which i’ve been saying for awhile like Rapid Slash might be the things everyone’s overlooking) and Swords super taking some of the arrows. But just a blind guess.
EDIT: Now looking at it again, i’m more than positive the swords took all the arrows hits. Considering right after Vergil dashes up and gets about 2-3 blocked hits with swords before disappearing.
Well now if that ain’t something.
it cost 2 meters but he just dragon punched some one 3/4s of the screen away out of a a rapid multi attack projectile hyper, if it worked on ryu and akuma beams hmm that would be delicious.
It would be nice if this game had ‘half meter’ functions. Summoning swords costs a meter, changing their stance costs half.
Yeah I wouldn’t mind that all. They gonna do what they gonna do I guess.
I’m a glass half full kinda guy so I’m gonna try to get at -least- a Vergil combo that builds 1.5 or so meter. I don’t think he’s that meter-hungry. Vergil has the better DT between him and Dante and his Spiral Swords seems a bit too gimmicky for me but whatever, since the buffs he gets on point AND as an assist from DT are way too good to not abuse that shit and spend the meter. I was fine using up the bar for Viper’s EX moves because more often than not, a well placed EX Seismo or EX TK to punish assist lead to a dead character or two. it’s not as ridiculous with Vergil of course, but because Marvel is a team game anyway, I would rather sacrifice on point Vergil shenanigans for Strange+Vergil assist shenanigans.
the only way i can see that working is if you xfc, my cousin got a hold of virgil at the NYCC build and tried but texted quote:“I tried to put in a faster input,but no cigar.you can’t hit till’ after the ground bounce… tough luck for you,you little shit”

Oh hm that’s interesting, he was in DT so that might mean Rising sun has added invincibility? that counter was from a greatttt distance too so thats crazy. I first thought the swords might have put out some of Taskmasters arrows and the tip just hit Task but it seems all the swords were still intact + the super should beat the swords clean. So, what do you guys think of Vergil’s health being 850k? I think is a little bit low, was expecting something like 900-950k.
Lower health = cheaper = higher tier. I’m fine with it. The whole point of playing this game is to not get hit and just keep putting people in hard to react to mix ups until they die. Vergil will have no problem doing that and will have no problem with 850k health. If Ghost Rider had 850k health that would be more of a problem. Vergil is easily going to be another Wesker/Magneto/Dante worthy monster of the game and Magneto had no problem tearing up the game with 850k health (nor did Dante with 900k).
The advantages he gets when he is in Devil Trigger are crazy. All of his special moves become bigger, stronger or just generally better, he becomes faster and gets all the other benefits Dante does outside of new special moves.
850k makes sense. I dunno how it doesn’t make sense.
I can see it happening. I think Vergil combos are slightly, easier than his brother. As a third character I was thinking of Dorm but, still on the novice right now.
His combos look easy, without a doubt. But I’m going to search for equally effective combos that require better execution. People may ask “Why take the risk of dropping a flashy combo when you can settle for something mundane, but equally effective?”
Response: “Well, Need that SSS-Stylish Rank.”
I still think people are missing the fact this guy is going to be more reset oriented while his brother will be the SSS-Stylish combo execution.
So I will be getting UMvC3 early either tomorrow or Tuesday, assuming my local game store has gotten them in yet. I plan on spending a lot of time in the lab with Vergil, anything you guys want me to test if I manage to get it?
check out how his assists are in DT mode also on average how much meter he gains per combo. try to see which of his moves cause certain states like soft knockdown or stagger and stuff like that.

Oh im a 100% fine with it. Very expected Health too. Only thing is, my whole team has low HP especially if I put Strider in somewhere lol. And the game will be less rushdown and Ill get bored and get reckless so I wonder how I’ll do lol. But no very expected HP as well as for Strange. Good stuff
I do worry now if Vergil will still be fun without insane bar though as one mentioned, all his fun stuff does seem to require bar but w/e
We think very alike sir, will be doing the same. There is little reason in this game to do more than day 1 or even TAC stuff anyways so, but I’ll be seeking for dat juice. I know he’s def. more reset oriented though but still.
