It’s all about style, gurlfriend.
maximum bubbles captures the full irony I think.
The twins last name is indeed Sparda. Old school style. Take your dads first name as your last or take the name of a famous ancestor and use it as your last. Both cases apply to the twins.
Honestly I had a similar feeling after seeing Vergil, but I’m still hopeful he’ll have Dante level combos. I’m also pretty convinced we haven’t seen his entire moveset yet because we have yet to see him perform round trip and this image looks far too distinct not to be that move.
Keep in mind that prior to release everyone said Dante’s day 0 Bnb was the extent of the character and we all know how that turned out. It’s still far too early to really judge what Vergil is capable of, so stay hopeful.
this. at least when it comes to the gameplay of new characters, seeing IS believing.
As much of a fan as I am of combos I’m more so a fan of mix ups and tricks and it looks like Vergil’s teleport game with assists will give him mix ups for days. Add on DT with air dash and double jump and that’s even more stuff to come up with. Now that the game has more emphasis on zoning you’ll have more characters like Vergil that can transition well between offensive and defensive play and that’s what I like most about Vergil so far. Who cares if you can’t style combo as cool as Dante…his ability to transition between offense and defense is going to be hella stylish to watch as it is.
The game’s damage is definitely too high but like I said that can always be adjusted if the community were to adopt a 3/5 match system or lower the damage in options. 3/5 match is probably the best way to do it without changing anything about the game itself. There’s no rounds so losing a character in MVC3 is literally like losing one of your special moves or normals in a SF game. Especially with the amount of characters that rely on assists to complete their offense/defense. Lose an assist and you lose that tool you need to create a long ranged mix up or pass through advance guards.
He has Stinger, High Time, Helm Breaker, Rising Sun and Lunar Phase for extending combos. Don’t think he will have problems making long combos, but either way if you are expecting Vergil to be a Dante clone… well, he’s not a Dante clone. He’s Vergil, and if you want Dante stick to him, or try out Strider.
I never played any DMC games but I’m pretty sure the Sparda twins each had like a million different moves right? so it’s likely we haven’t uncovered even 1/4 of Vergil’s entire moveset.
I’m not sure , I like the fact you have to spend more meter to change modes , I’d much rather you got to chose which sword mode you went into
that’s just me though
Dante has over 10 weapons, Vergil has only 4, 1 of which doesn’t appear in this game. So there’s no way he has as much moves as Dante.
I’ve only watched vids of DMC3…so I can’t say for sure if Vergil had just as many moves as Dante. From what I’ve heard Vergil supposedly didn’t have as many weapons as Dante did. I kinda doubt at this point that Vergil has as many command normals and special moves as Dante because that was like THE FIRST thing that was brought up about Dante when S-Kill described him during trailers. Vergil seems to be like more streamlined Dante with more super based options.
Plus with Dante of his 23 special moves only 6 or 7 of them are worth using for any specific reason to attack or control space with. The others are just extensions of his style moves for combos.
Yea Dante will still be the most Combotastic/stylish out of the brothers for sure. But Vergil will have way more mixups and reset potential from what im seeing.
Although it does look kind of bad for his stylish combos, even though I know they won’t be Dante level it really seems he doesn’t have much at all. Doesn’t help everyone seems to have X-factord after High T. to be able to combo from it :. Ill still rock it though. Im worried about Dante still lolo.
Even if everyone was doing Dantes day 1 BNB for the first few days you could obviously see there was more potential due to his 40 + moves. Just no one really experimented yet until the release at least. I know Vergil won’t have as many moves just by going by the games and what seen
^ This it has always been like this between the two… honestly if Vergil had 10x weapons no one would care, because dante can or would be able to do the
same thing, the only difference is this guy has a samurai sword yay. In DMC3 Vergil game is all about not getting touched period… which means you would
have to be on POINT with your teleport game. Capcom has implemented that perfectly which goes along the lines of what deviljin was saying, his mix-ups/
resets are going to be great. Dante does his combo’s with style and playfulness, Vergil does his with style and grace… beautiful dark grace.
^ teleport game i mentioned… from kail … you can watch the full video up to you… There’s other people who also show’s just how stylish Vergil
can really be (Brea, Flamer0, hisnightmare). And lets be honest with ourself’s here, yo ass aint gonna be alive to spark all 30+ Combo’s no way
and its been beaten half to death that your only gonna use what? 5 maybe 6 different ones? Don’t be a kill joy pal pick both brothers.
Going by the S-Kill demos, you can cancel High Time into a medium (?) teleport to appear on top of the other guy, which you can then super-cancel. But yeah, you’d need assists or XF to pull off other combos.
But in Marvel, Dante has 9 of his 10 DMC3 weapons, while Vergil has all 4 of his (3 if you don’t count Summoned Swords as a weapon). The most technically challenging thing Vergil had in DMC3 was jump-canceled Aerial Rave/divekick loops or weaving sword formations into normal combos, anyway - anything else he could do was simple by that series’ standards. It really shouldn’t be THAT much of a surprise that Vergil isn’t as flashy as Dante, especially since it’s in keeping with their personalities.
Whatever. I will try my hardest to reserve judgment until everybody’s out in the wild.
Was your explanation towards me or were you agreeing? Cause yea I know. Regardless Im def. gonna pick both brothers too.
Although I just wish you could at least combo from his OTG without super canceling or w/e if you cant. Or some of his loops but that’ll be unlikely to happen. Lets go though if you can have some nice mixups from that. He’ll be a beastt regardless
yeah im agreeing with you, just explaining the style between the two for people who saying vergil is simple…
i wonder if u can throw out additional JCs after the initial 1 u do like how he does in dmc3se
All I know is, if your 1st character out has short reach, you better switch him out come November. Because the flood of mashing Vergils are going to be really salt inducing if you can’t trade pokes.
DAM this guy looks too good
I really need to know how much life he has, watching vids… it looks like Vergil bleeds…
That means he’s gonna be good.
