Also not sure durability is the problem with swords, its more that they make him basically immune to physical attacks and give him probably the best crossups in the game.

I’m inclined to agree with that. With the right assist, it could be nearly impossible to block Vergil. I like what I see though, just what I asked for. A simplified Dante with reduced speed. He looks more manageable to my tastes, and his Ode to Spiral Hyper has a lot of uses, for both Rushdown & Keepaway.

And for the love of Thor, can we please not call his Slash Hyper “Maximum Vergil!” It’s NOTHING like Spidey or Wesker’s Hypers and it just sounds tacky.

And I think it will be by default. Considering his other Level 1s are the Spiral Swords & Devil Trigger, it’s a good bet. And that combo sounds like a world of hurt. Nice.

Reduced speed? Vergil looks way faster than Dante or am I insane? I agree with the simplified part being it looks like he doesn’t have 30+ moves.

I wasn’t sure where he was coming from either. He looks much faster. Faster moves, faster walk, faster teleport.

What I meant by that was it may be possible to counteract swords with a projectile if they have low enough durability. Especially if the recovery of activation + startup of a teleport is significant enough. I want to say I believe capcom wouldn’t be stupid enough to make it unbeatable… I want to.

What about Sparda Shuffle or just Slayer Shuffle? Alliteration makes everything better, and “Son of Sparda” is about as close as you’re gonna get to Vergil’s (Or Dante’s, for that matter) last name.

Seeing as how Okami is Ammy’s last name. You have to use Vergil’s last name.
