To all the people telling others that Vergil doesnāt build meter with swords, calm down. It was like 3AM and we were all so hyped that we were looking at the wrong meter. Me and someone else even admitted to it.
His lvl3 seems useless to me. If it does a ton of dmg, itād be OP because even Dante can do a DT wait lvl3 meaning that the DT would just be an extra command/bar. If it does a little, dmg why not just his lvl1? And lastly if it does mediocre dmg, why the hell is it a lvl3 that takes him out of DT and costs technically 4 bars?
that is quite literally the worst explanation as to why it isnt a bold move cancel. you have no idea what buttons the guys were pressing while they were playing, so theres no way you can turn around and say it isnt one.
and just to clarify, im not saying it definatly IS one either, but the amount of misinformation in this thread at the moment is STAGGERING.
As far as I can tell (although I have a headache and my bank is pissing me off right now) every time I see him use that Stinger-like move, he uses a teleport afterwards. IIRC, twice he teleported behind the opponent, and once he teleported above the opponent. The only time he didnāt teleport after using it IIRC is when he canceled into his lvl3. This leads me to BELIEVE that his stinger-like move is hyper cancelable, has teleport extension (for example QCF+L for stinger then ATK for teleport), his teleport is hyper cancellable, or some combination of these things. Again this is all theory but what else can we do?

lol i think itās badass. Like Dante just stands there not holding anything then before you know it he can teleport, slash you with Rebellion, use rockets, etc. Whereas Vergil just stands there with one hand on his Yamato waiting for you to make the slightest mistake

I think we can infer that Vergil isnāt using any Bold Cancels seeing as to how none of the reveal trailers or gameplay trailers for any character used any advanced-ish execution combos. Could be wrong though.
According to an acquaintance of mine, who seems to get some fighting game info before its released (he mentioned a lot of the Virgil info that was revealed today a few weeks ago), you can only do his lv3 in DTā¦ So yes, its technically a lv4.
He has also mentioned a lot of Rocket Raccoon, Wright, and Nova stuff. I just havenāt bothered to repost it incase he is/was wrong
Iām not certain one way or the other. My premises are this:
- The launcher move he did after the stinger looking move looks like the same one he used to OTG.
- He can do different moves after the stinger (launcher looking move, teleport, and the Ryujin looking uppercut)
Now, it absolutely could be true the stinger looking move is cancelable to special or s.S.
But that would mean that his s.S hits and launches OTG, which I find hard to believe. What makes more sense to me is the stinger move being bold-cancelable, and the launcher OTG move being a special.

Probably because itās significantly weaker to Orbs, and you have to spend another bar for the projectile sword mode.

This seems correct on account of the footage. Itās weird butās itās probably done to balance out the fact he gets Summoned Swords as a level 1.

So how much damage is his level 4 doing? In the one gameplay vid he did it with X-factor level three and took out like a quarter of skrulls hp in 1 game second. (I think. I could be wrong, this comp canāt run videos that wellā¦ DAMN YOU INTERNET!). Thatās what? 250,000 or more? Personally if it aināt killing she hulk in X-factor 3 i donāt see it getting much use. Especially because of devil trigger and summoned sword hypers being awesome and tricksy. Still need to get my hands on the game though before i decide anythingā¦
