I have no idea what so say to this. Is he banned forever or just this yearâs evo?
I congratulated the dumb idiot on being a class act with Shady. Thought he learned his lesson. He goes talkin big again. I told him he should act like an adult. He continues talkin. Now look at him. A player with a ton of talent, and one who brings normally uninterested parties in to observe such as myself (and Deathscythe, I see) with his hype, and he ruins it for himself and everyone else. I could say he probably learned his lesson, but somehow I doubt it. Gaming is going to explode as a means of competitive sport within the next decade, mark my words. Poker, Paintball, Cheerleading, and everything in between is on ESPN now. But if you think they are going to put kids like DPC on there, you are kidding yourself. There is all the potential in the world for this scene that we all love, and hopefully the kid will find a more constructive means of producing his hype, because he is good for Marvel and the fighting game scene in general.
Too bad it cost me 3 billion neg reps to say the same thing last week. Heres hoping it goes better this time!
will somebody PLEASE think of the sidebets!
Yeah thatâs definitely what I was thinking.
Pos rep for you.
:wgrin:
evo is ruined.
cosign
and that nigga brought hype and laughs
it made me wanna beast in marvel
Yep.
so i canât judge him but u can u hypicryre whatever.
what an unfortunate situation.
Wow thats crazy. Are there any links to what lead to this or have they been deleted already?

Marvel vs Capcom 2âŚ
Serious Business,etcâŚ
Anyway,I donât really agree with this decision, but I guess they want to take extra precautions to make sure nothing jumps off.All of the hype is now destroyed.
Itâs a shame because he is a good player. He comes with baggage, and especially the shit talking, but nothing physical has happend between him and any player yet.
No Justin Wong vs DPC this year at Evo
Wasnât Ricky O. banned from the series at one point as well? He still ended up participating though. Nevertheless, indeed a dark day.
I love the kids crying that they wonât go to Evo now, when none of you even know the guy or anything about him because a couple videos.
There are only a couple people whoâve posted in this thread that will BE at Evo, or have met anyone whoâs even WENT to Evo.
I saw the posts about the stabbing and shooting and all this shit, and while I definitely donât think anything would happen at all, I still would bar him from events at least temporarily for that shit. A few people want to see Marvel as that so it isnât as boring as it has always been, and thatâs understandable, as DPC is a joke to begin with. Everyone laughed at the video because it was so nerdy and terrible. He still keeps things interesting, though.
There will still be tons of MMs, tons of drama, and just one less goofy looking shit talker around. No big deal.
I think the story with Ortiz is that he got banned because he didnât pay back some Evo directors for airfare, but then TFGM/Empire paid off his debts and was un-banned.
Eh, I can see why they decided to ban him in the end.
The trash talk was funny as heck, and while Iâm more partial to seeing games like 3S being played, I have to confess that these recent videos and matches really made me sit down and actually enjoy Marvel, which is a game I usually pay little to no attention to.
But the physical threat parts are what ruined the whole thing. It wasnât the smoke. It wasnât the âthis guy sucks so bad, and this guy is really fat and sweats while he plays the game.â That stuff was fine, even if it was completely nerdy, childish, etc. The absurdity of it all made it really entertaining, and makes you salivate for a MvC2 match to âsettleâ things.
But then people look into the camera talking about UFC this, come packing that, donât mess with my boy this, and the whole thing comes crashing. Even DP didnât say the words himself, itâs his personality thatâs driving it. Otherwise, half of those guys probably wouldnât have much a reason to mouth off the way they did. You canât run an event where people arenât just insulting each other, but also making direct warnings about watching their back. Even if nothing would happen. Canât have a major tournament event âbackingâ that kind of thing. Even if it is all a joke.
The ONLY think thatâll be missedâŚ
please reconsider everyone is going for this, Iâm sure nothing would really escalate to the point of violence. This is way too big to be removed from evo, look how many people are hyped about this. :[
Boring? No other fighting game has hype like marvel. You are clearly a fucking hater.
Again, what happens if you host a major tournament and allow it to represent some of the extra baggage that went along with the âhype.â Also, imagine, in an unlikely worst case scenario, what would happen if something actually "happened?â
And by that, Iâm not talking about the incident itself, but if an incident occurred at all. That sets a bad precedent.
Itâs not good news, but itâs smart news.
