Daredevil: The Thread Without Fear!

Punishe, X-Force and Azrael would like you to purchase their books.

Except for current Punisher, which is both utterly bizarre and fascinating at the same time.

I kinda like what DD’s goin through right now. It’s got a real dark feel to it, without being to 90’s. Also I figure you guys would like this, here’s my modded SE.

Daredevil’s going to have to get off the fence sooner or later. Either he’s willing to do what it takes to get the job done or he’s not.

Very nice.

Honestly, I don’t know how to feel about DD #504.

I think my biggest complaint is that I feel cheated in regards to the ā€œfight sceneā€ between The Hand and H.A.M.M.E.R., or rather the lack thereof. In the past, I’ve praised the fact that Diggle has given the minor characters a fair portion of exposure. However, in this case I would have much rather preferred some ninja vs. soldier action panels over a couple of pages devoted to Foggy and Dakota problems, considering that this confrontation had been building for a while now. Speaking of Foggy, I found his reaction quite humorous when Judge Kramer revealed that it was the Kingpin who’d had him disbarred, with all the seemingly irreparable damage he’s dealt in the past. Born Again, anyone? What’s even more laughable is DD’s reaction to the news at the beginning of the issue, not even considering that just maybe the Kingpin is still a viable threat to him.

This brings me to my main issue with Diggle’s run so far, that being that we have little knowledge of what’s going on in Matt’s head at this point. I think this was one of the strongest aspects of previous runs, particularly during Bendis’s run. I feel like he really understood what made the character tick, and thus gave both Matt and DD equal treatment. However, currently every scene with DD has him in costume and giving commands, which is ultimately making him a stranger in his own book. I assume this is to create the mystery as to what he’s planning and create that shred of doubt that I’ve spoken of before, which let’s face it, is long gone.

At this point, I don’t know whether to drop the title or not. Before Diggle, it was easily my favorite monthly title. Yet, at this point, I feel as though I’m kinda buying it simply because it’s Daredevil, like Zephyranthes said. I think I’ll reserve my judgement until after I’ve read a few more issues. The next story arc is where Matt is goes to Japan to try and reunite the severed factions of the Hand. Maybe it’ll pick up?

By the way, bholc79, nice art choice on your SE there. If I had to pick the single greatest DD story, that’s it hands down.

Daredevil’s pretty much garbage now. The writer can’t even write the comic by himself.
