So I just had a chance to see Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai in the theater, one of my favorites that I’ve not seen in 10 or 12 years. Let me just say that Toshiro Mifune’s character Kikuchiyo is Dan all the way. He even does the ass slap at one point.
Kyuzo is Ryu for sure.
Katsushiro is Sakura

totally, man. good connection… and it’s been a while since I saw that movie, but doesn’t he have some touching “OYAJIII”-esque moment when he rescues a baby in the middle of a battle and cries something like, “this was me, i was this baby!!!”

Found it! This entire clip is a good representation of Kikuchiyo’s Dan-like bravado.
Yeah, he does do that. Hell, his outfit towards the end of the movie looks very similar to Dan’s sparring gear alt… except with a lot more ass cheeks.
just frowns severely at this last part… then Thumbs Up awesome attention to Saikyo detail!
