Any chance of Goons starting early tomorrow? Can’t stay too late because of work.
You mean you have a dinner date with your wood elf?
Do you fools have no pride in where you’re from? Texas doesn’t say “swag,” “technology,” “body,” or essentially any other word that you hear to describe an action or situation that’s not specifically fighting game jargon.
Yup, it’s KoF wednesday! I’m sure there’ll be an off setup for other games though. It starts at 7pm.
If you want to run some early games, you’re welcome to swing by my place. I live right around the corner. All I have is a ps3 though and 1 stick.
Get that 360 yo. I watch Netflix on my PS3!!!
Yo, I’m putting my go board in my car ad we speak so it’d be there for any go emergency. I dint know how to play the game that well, so it’d be awesome if someone could teach it. That being said, I should be at the house on Friday.
Damn. All I have is have is a 360 and a 360 stick. Is your stick dual modded?
My other stick is just at goons, so i can roll by and get it. What games you lookin to play?
KOF mostly. Message me with the details and all that if you’re still down.
Trying to learn KOF is there anything major i should learn first. Been playing around with the missions and holy crap even the most basic ones require some really good links.
Great video for us beginners:
Keep in mind there aren’t actually links. The big thing to know is that you can only cancel the RECOVERY of normals, so like in sf4 where for some characters you can mash to chain cancel, in kof you can’t cancel a normal until it hits. So say you’re doing like cr.b X2 with K’, you 'd have to do a cr. b, then after it hits, you can press it again to cancel. It’ll feel awkward at first, but once you get used to the timing it’ll be easy, since everything is about chain cancelling in this game.
Also, there’s a hold button buffer for special moves and supers. On your wake up, you can do like a dragon punch, and the way to get it to come out on the first frame is by doing the motion and then holding the attack input. The game will hold the input for a while, and if you’re holding it when you wake out you’ll get your reversal. This also helps when doing combos, like with hwa jai after i do an air dragon tail, i have to link dp C. So what I do is the dragon tail, then near the end of my move i’ll do a dp C and just hold down the C button, and the second he can actually do the move it’ll come out do to the buffer. I think it lasts like 10 frames or so. Once you get used to this mechanic it’ll make doing things a whole lot easier.
Also a lot of those combos some of the hardest parts for me was the jump in parts. You actually have to be aware of how deep you’re hitting them. I believe hopping makes it easier for your character to hit meaty? At least that’s what I was told.
Either way, keep in mind that like, right after your jump in connects, you can just press your next button. Usually people are used to “waiting to land” before inputting their ground attack, but do it right away and you’ll find jump ins to be a lot easier.
Updated info regarding Killeen’s next big tourney. Lower venue fee, mad prizes (including gift card for tatoos), and other minor tweaks. Thanks, be sure to at least check the link out.

Im gonna try to bring my crew to this. Gift cards for tatoos? thats actually a hype ass door prize!
Yeah, man. I’m hyped too! Spread the word. Can’t wait to hang out with the rest of my Texas peeps and get some games and drinks in. I have to get with John (PGs) owner about the after party stuff too. He knows a lot of the club managers and I got to see if that is still on and will update the thread with that as well.
