-3rd at a Newton tourney
-1st at NCR2(28 ppl:rolleyes:)

-garnering FFA hype
-winning random FFA tourneys
Let’s look at Jwong’s(for comparison) accomplishments in 3s:
-3rd at evo 2k4(more people than WCo3s BTW)
-1st at TX Showdown
-1st at The Last Stand
-1st at ECC9
-1st at NEC4
You’re going to tell me his accomplishments earn him the best US player title when he hasn’t won a tournament with anyone from outside of Cali for the last year? Seems like a big leap…

I meant I don’t think you represent anyone well when you don’t go to tournaments outside of your own arcade and then still want everyone to jock you hardcore, that’s scrub mentality, when you refuse to play unless everything is up to your standards…

To clear some things up. Evo setup for 3s was really bad. No point in arguing that it wasnt. Seeing controls fail and random pauses isnt anybody’s ideas of world’s greatest tourney. Plus seeding was horrible. Paulee, Ricky O, Amir, and some top candian player doode. That is a death bracet. Amir ends up sending ricky to losers qualifier. Ricky almost loses to the candian guy. The finals werent as exciting because people were making mistakes they shouldnt (ie. ricky missing customs, ko missing dive kicks, and so on). What makes evo so good is the people. This evo wasnt as entertaining but was mad fun.
At a time Ricky O. was # 1, then pyro beats him. This time Justin Wong was #1 pyro also beats him. Does it really matter where anyone should play. If they played they played. Dont take away the greatness of their matches by saying it doesnt count cause of blah blah. Wong played really well against Pyro. If you guys want to go by tourney standings, Pyro placed over Ko and KSK in a japan tourney. On their sticks.
What is the point of spending 300+ to travel out to play one person. The only people with good 3s skills around n. america is ny crew, texas, and canada (no order). I would love to play these guys more. I believe we can all learn from each other to make us greater players and hopefully better friends in the community. The problem is its just not worth the 300+. If there is any traveling FF is going to do is prolly to japan. Which should still be the main focus to beat not who has the biggest dick in the US so we can ride on it.
I would rather go to different states jes to hang out with new people, casue their cool and shit. But fanboys gotta hype shit up and talk mad shit. With this kind of instigation going around i am surprised yi and pyro didnt say shit earlier. Fanboys should get off their srk forums and tourney stats counting and play.
Pyro beat ricky and justin. You fanboys can count ALL the tournies pyro didnt show up in. But the important fact remains, rikcy or justin couldnt beat pyro. Ricky was closer to beatin pyro than justin.
Justin wong is a cool guy. He was teaching me some cvs2 stuff, even though i didnt ask him too. When the crowd was booing i was getting annoyed. That boy got mad skills. FFA has mad love for wong and his ny peeps.
Break that shit down. That’s what I’m talking about with all seriousness here. Pretty much said everything that needed to be said to define what’s overhyped and what isn’t with past statistics of ricky and justin vs pyro.
And also just to clarify I’m not a Justin hater, anyone who can own shit up with guile, marrow, gambit and morrigan in marvel is good in my book. Seriously though, latest big tourny victories vs. consistent practice with japanese and a higher recognition of skill…I don’t see what’s so opaque about this. And on the topic of stick issues…imo I think that it’s important that controls are as consistent as possible as in no fuck ups. Just cuz you can own shit up on a fucked up control may be some shit to ya’ll…but a lot of you are overlooking the fact that it’s great controls that allows the players to truly demonstrate their full capabilities.
Talk down to pyro all you want about how he’s being “arrogant” about controls, if ya ask me there’s nothing arrogant about asking for good controls…I thought it was something that everyone deserves:confused: , but his actions have spoken for himself.

I believed he did. The reason this was brought up was because of more current events that have been taking place. I dont know when that match took place but i am assuming its been ahwile. Looking at that match would be like looking at wong when he was in the 5 on 5 USA vs. Japan.
As far as I’ve seen in videos, pyrolee is really good. I honestly never thought Justin was SOO good at 3S, but I’m sure he’s one of the best players in the US. Personally I don’t know who is better after seeing JWong keep up ok with Daigo.
But pyrolee has improved thousandfold, at least from what I have seen in videos. I had a video of him getting double perfected by KO in a Yun/Yun match, but he now plays at a japanese level, and did do very well in the 5 on 5.

Having missed EVO this year and the live postings and finally being able to get online here in Okinawa all I can say is… HOLY SHIT!! I’ve seen it done in practice mode where you record the dummy doing SAII and have the ai parry, but never seen it done by a human opponent. I’ve only gotten to parry the first 2 kicks untill I fuck it up whenever I’ve tried.

OK Pryo is very good in 3S. He beat me at the FFA tourney, but the stick I was using SUCKS!!! I know Pyro can vouch for me on that and someone else was using it from FFA and had the same problem I did But I forgot who.
Right now we can say Pyro is up against me 1-0 but just one tournament win should not have settle the score. Im not taking anything away from Pyro because in reality he is a cool guy and he is really really good in 3S. So we can just leave it like that for now.
