edit…
I recorded that, it is/was available at Karathrow.com if not, I can send it to you(or whoever hasn’t seen it yet).
Face it. The famous Japanese Genei Jin chant is becoming a worldwide epidemic. Didn’t think it would spread in Europe now, possibly Germans and Italians have caught on to this shit as well.
The announcer in this video doing that has nothing on the Chinese cameraman taping the 5 on 5 Super Battle Opera videos.
He was going ei like he was having cardiac arrest.
Haha, Europeans treating SF like a soccer match. You can hear some crowd chanting in the background.
Crappy announcer, plus crowd cept soceer like chant, kinda boring fights.
I agree, the crowd was weird… Actually few SF players went because the event was pretty far from Paris which is where all the comp is. So most people there -including the announcer who doesn’t play 3s- had no idea what was really going on, they were either SoulCalibur players or random people. Oh, and Genei cheering annoys me too, I always tell my friends to shut up when they start doing that but they keep doing it just to mess me up. Bastards!
I kinda knew beforehand I was going to get fucked up trying to play Yun against him, Japanese Kens tend to give me a lot of trouble (I already lost to two of them at SBO and Absolution and now that makes three, guess I have mental block or something). Didn’t want to take many chances with tech throws on wake-up in the corner because Daigo was punishing that shit HARD in casual a little earlier -cr. MK, DP, kara-DP on whiffs with like 100% accuracy. So yeah, gotta admit I was a bit scared. He quickly picked that up and made me pay for it. After the first two matches he adapted very well and I just couldn’t keep up so I got BEASTED on. Good shit.
In short, Daigo > Me. Dude’s a monster in every game and he was really friendly and polite too, great guy.
Thanks to whoever gave me props. Some people were taping Daigo casual matches so I’ll see if I can upload some of them if anyone’s interested.
P.S.: Be on the lookout for the upcoming CvS2 challenge vid, that one was the most exciting IMO.
try getting a download program like flashget or download accelerator
oooh i want to see Daigo vs Evil rematch.
hey billykane were you guys playing on DC or PS2? Hopefully PS2, since it’s more arcade-perfect. Regardless, seems like Daigo had no problems with the controls.
stream3: It was the PS2 version. After the matches I asked Daigo if he noticed any difference (compared to the arcade version) and he said he didn’t except that Genei Jin seemed easier to combo into on PS2. He said everything else seemed arcade perfect but he didn’t get the time to fully test the PS2 version yet so he wasn’t 100% sure. His execution on PS2 was flawless for the whole weekend so I’m guessing the port is really good.
For the record, he brought his own (ASCII CvS2) stick with him but he asked for a Hori SC2 stick later on because he was having trouble with it. He said he really likes the SC2 stick. His stick was strapped onto the table before the exhibition so that it wouldn’t move.
Unfortunately Daigo played Yamazaki93 in the CvS2 challenge because Evil had to work and couldn’t make it. Good matches still.
daigo is the reason i got back into sf after watching him play i was damn i wanna be good like that :wow: @ billykane’s yun in this and uk vs france
i got that video i didn’t even know i did i just looked in my 3s folder and saw it gimme your email address and i’ll send it to you its only 5mb
Props to BillyKane, Mymoza & Daigo for those matches. Yeah, Daigo’s a beast. But I guess the pre-tourney casuals must’ve done some huge psychological damage on everyone, if Daigo was pulling shit like that. It’s one of those things where you had to be there. Either way, nice showings.
I didn’t think that many people actually red parry during tourney matches. I guess I always thought it was too much of a risk, and hardly anyone was that sure of their red-parry timings to do it in tourney.
BillyKane- Random nit-picky question: It doesn’t seem like you activated Genei Jin nearly as much as you could have… I’m guessing it’s partly from the pressure Daigo was putting on you, but in the first match, you connected a chain combo into the upkicks when you had bar. I’m wondering, because I usually cancel into Genei Jin, blocked chain or not, and start poking away to get a juggle in there. Any reasons, or was it just pressure? (No offence intended or anything. I’m just wondering.)
Bring on GGXX#Reload!!!
damn their cheer sounds horrible
The CvS2 is up too. Daigo uses A-groove

Good job to Billykane and Mymoza on taking a couple matches from Daigo. Few can say that they’ve beaten the man even 1 match, so that’s a moment you can remember proudly.

wow daigo plays A-groove now. Guess he was tired of getting customed to death. Those matches were all really close (except when he busted out his C-groove). Good shit.
EDIT: damn daigo’s a beast at ST. Ryu, Ken, Deejay, Balrog, Xangief O_O?
damn some of those cvs2 matches were intense.
