** D-Pad's New Braunfels, TX tournament - Feb 28th, 2009!

He’s just saying that there’s already 8 tv’s and 8 360s at the dpad already set-up, so knowone would have to bring any extra ps3’s or tv’s…

:wgrin:

I don’t see how air fireballs could be balanced in the world of Street Fighter II.

But I haven’t played as Akuma in HDR so I dunno what’s the deal.

I don’t want to suffer any console conflicts, so I’m gonna go ahead and state that this will strictly be a PS3 tournament for SFHD and SF4.

Get those converters ready ;o

So you want to fill me in on how Akuma is broken in HD Remix? Or do you want to continue on and pretend like you know what your talking about.

i’ll be down i will talk to the others to see if they can give me a lift over there ha

BTW in street fighter 4. will seth be banned?

and by mid feb i will know for Sure if i i will be able to go i have a ps3 that i can probably bring it has DR and HD remix on the system

a tekken DR on the side just throwing that out there :china:

Great.
Also, hope a lot of locals will show up. This event will be advertise at almost all the Gamestops in town.

count me in for some hdr and sf4 action. For Akuma in hd though, i guess it depends on what you call broken ( I call Akuma extremely retarded ). Zero recovery on his fireball (as well as tripguard), having all srk’s invincible on the way up (jab dp is completely invincible if i remember correctly), completely having a way to avoid tick attempts just by throwing red fireballs (all his hitboxes move to the back on start-up when he throws fireballs), and having the best normal moves.

Having inescapable raging demon set-ups doesn’t help the situation either, and sometimes you can’t jump out of the rd normally as well! I know he’s the best character, but I don’t know myself if all the dumb stuff he has constitutes as being broken or just borderline retarded.

Posted this event every where I can.
I know I got some Austin people showing up ;o

SF4/HDR should be on 360. There are tons of setups available already and most people are getting sticks for the 360 version. If you don’t like the dpad on the 360, get a generic brand Mad Catz controller which has a good dpad. Statistically speaking, many more people have the 360 and you’re going to get a larger attendance that way.

We new have two ps3…(thank you lee)

I want to avoid any console conflicts, and I want this event running only on PS3 seeing as how I know more people who have the equipment in trying to make sure the performance of the game is as lagless/usable as possible for the PS3.

Also, buying a Mad Catz controller is the worst thing anyone can suggest as any kind of controller solution.

Isn’t there like a way to use your 360 sticks on a PS3 anyway? Converters, dual wires? I don’t know.

Sure there is a converter, but they cost as much as a arcade stick and they lag like a mofo according to the people that tested it.

Dual wires is the other option which I use, only thing is it takes some work to get it working right which is a lot of trouble for most peeps

By Dual wires I assume you simply modify the stick itself to be able to play on both?

How much does that cost for the parts and are you doing it yourself or having someone modify your stick?

If you wanted dual wires from a store bought stick like a HRAP or Hori EX2 then it would be easier to rip all the guts out from it so it’s just a case. Then if you wanted it for ps3 and xbox360 you would have to buy a Cthulhu board and a madcatz 360 controller and wire them together then stick them inside the case and wire them to the buttons, although it’s a little more complicated than that but you get the idea.

If you were willing to go through all the trouble to dual wire it I would suggest replacing the buttons with Sanwa or Seimitsu since most store bought ones are trash. Getting your own artwork on your stick and painting the case is another thing entirely.

There’s plenty of guides on this site that explains on how to dual mod it. It really isn’t that hard unless you really don’t get how electronics work or too lazy to do it yourself.

Shouldn’t cost much I guess just the price for the two controllers, tools like the wires and soldering iron, stick parts like the buttons and the actual arcade stick that you are gutting. If you want to talk more go ahead and PM me.

I actually wonder how many Pad players will show up to this event.
Regardless, more testing has been done on the PS3 when it comes to the lagless choice.

I know I’m bringing my Ps3 as well as 2 very good converters that are lagless (it’s a PS2 -> PS3 converter).
If anyone can spare any converters, that would be great. Any help will will be appreciated.

Also I’m debating whether or not Akuma should be banned on Street Fighter HD.
Supposedly he is very, very strong even in Remix mode.
Hmmmmmmmmm…

I can bring one PS2/PS3 converter.

I might go

Hmmm so who would do Round 2 Gamestop or D-pad tourney:confused:

gonna try and see if I have time I’ll download 2 copies of hd remix on our ps3’s
