So order talk here. This is about my secondary team which is:
C-Sagat/Guile/Chun.
Alright, yesterday, I was starting Sagat, and having Chun as my r2 anchor. Two questions here. This seems like a very versatile squad, and it seems to not have any problem with building meter and using it.
Matchup wise, can it be beneficial to start Sagat? I know Guile is too good as a battery, but when it comes to getting out to a big lead right out of the gate, would Sagat be better at it, or does he have some harsh matchups with some of the more common battery characters?
Also, can a Chun anchor stand up to some of today’s anchors that people use? I set it up to where that at least when she comes in, that she has meter to do damage with, which leans me to keeping Guile second in that team.
But yeah any input would be appreciated.
I’m liking C-Guile/Ken/Chun-r2 too. Too fun with meter.
guile/chun/sagat. starting sagat is great, but in c its even better to have him in the back, plus he doesn’t even really need meter to damage unlike chun. guile still builds meter for chun in this order, and he does pretty good against other batteries(vega).
sagat first works but if they have vega or guile first, it’s a tough match and you can lose a lot of sagat early. r2 chun in the back is really good imo. you just absolutely have to have her with full bar. guile is versatile, but i can’t see putting him anywhere but first unless you’re looking to counter someone.
Considering that you’ll probably face a lot of A-Vegas & A-Sakuras as battery, if you really want to have Sagat go first you’ll have to be really solid with him in order to stay ahead (too much work for my tastes, thus one of the reasons I’d put him either second or last). Also, I think either Sagat or Chun Li can make better use of the meter (you could try putting Guile first then switching Sagat & Chun Li around depending on match-ups).
As for Chun as anchor, she has about even match-ups against the most common anchors (A-Blanka, A-Bison, C-Sagat, K-Cammy) you just have to be patient and really good with your footsies.
Funny thing, I know both the A-Vega and A-Sak matchups really well, so I mean it’s not too big of a deal with me.
I"m really sold on the r2 Chun on this team. I like the touch of death stuff, actually killing someone. I got solid stuff and footsies and all of that to keep her as an anchor.
What if I switched Sagat out for Blanka? I’m thinking that if I do that, I’d be more inclined to start Guile in more cases than one. Would that work better?
how good is ryo in k groove?..i’m starting to think about playing him a bit more…perhaps with an underdog team…my sig team is my primary…but sometimes when you’re playing with friends and ur top team is doing well you wanna switch it up a little i play a more aggressive style and think i need characters with safe supers been toying with the idea of playing beni/ryo/makir2 just for kicks…but beni could easily be switched out for kyo so that the team isn’t a joke
i play k…so i’d lose all of his rc stuff he seems like a fun character though can be really annoying with his rush down…mix that up with his command grabs and things could get interesting…not to mention he has a really easy link cr.lkx3,cr.mkxx dashing super…hurts like a bitch
Sad but true…I thought you were playing K-Rog. At least I saw you do that at NEC. I didn’t get a chance to play you unfortunately. I haven’t played you like, since a C3 awhile back. What groove are you playing that team in?
beni’s rc’s are ok, but he just gets better damage options in a and n imo. n beni can work you off of low jump level grab super, or short, short, level 1 rush, whatever. a beni does pretty well against k and p once he gets that bar and can activate and chip you a lot with that spin kick move, plus his custom does decent damage if you happen to land it.
That’s a cool team I guess. I know Kyo builds meter like a fiend, and has a really decent CC, and a nice GC CC. I don’t know too much about A-Joe, and A-Todo is really nice.
Anyways for my team I’ve been playing C-Yuri, Guile, Sagat, and occasionally A-Yuri, Vega, Bison/Eagle (When I know I can’t PTF)
