Cvs2 team formation: discussion/suggestions, etc

ya i did already…i got alot of game with terry, i just never found an anti air that was really effective so i quit using him.

so im just gonna try this one and see if it works, if it does then he might be my Yun bench player.

It’s a great Anti-Air, better than many of the other Mid-Tiers AA.

If you have to take anyone’s word for it, I would listen to Buk, but of course, you should bring into actual play and see for yourself.

You’ll see it’s very good overall, just get used to using it. It’s not ‘random’ either. Like anything without invincibility, you’ll trade hits on occasion. However, what makes Terry’s AA so good is how quick that elbow pops out.

it cleanly beats most jump ins, works as an anti-cross up, and I don’t think it loses outright to anything. The only thing it’s missing is horizontal range, but that’s a problem that most characters have

I dont understand how people can say that that is a decent anti air but yamazaki’s stand mp isnt. Doesnt make any sense at all.

depends on the distance. far s.strong is good when they’re far. close s.strong is good if you’re lucky and they’re close and hit their move at some weird timing. the problem is at that ambiguous distance where you wanted far s.strong but get close s.strong.

Terry’s d/f fierce is the same every time.

s.lp,s.fp three hit combo

c.lp df,fp. 2 hits

c.mp, c.lp, s.lk level 3 buster wolf.

small jump rh to power dunk lol

c.lk close s.lk, lk power dunk… Terry’s cool

A is probally the best Terry. Terry with dash and stored meter is too dope.
C
P
N K S( S terry is fun unlimited level 1’s)

True but if the way i see it is if they’re jumping in that close, your not gonna use st.mp but d.fierce rather.

Terry’s d/f fierce seems to only reach slightly (very slightly) in front of him. More anti crossup than anything. It reminds me of geese d.fierce cept with slightly more range infront of him.

For some people, they had a false impression that Terry didn’t really have a reliable AA.

For whatever reason, he’s considered mid-low (not even regular mid).

As an addition to your team (in my case, I posted earlier back that he’s one of my top 7 characters), he’s a solid character. So yeah I’m keeping him in the rotation.

My most working teams tend to be like this:

K-Groove

Joe or Terry R1
Nakoruru R1
Blanka R2

If the only reason you don’t pick Terry is his AA game, then chances are you weren’t using df+hp. He’s still kinda hit or miss overall though. He can have a hard-time turning the round back to his favor once he loses ground.

I think Terry in N is like chun-li light… He does alot of the same things she does for less combo damage but more poking damage. He also doesn’t have any really good rc’s just situational ones. but still good stuff. Plus it’s fun to do meaty cr.fp, cr.mk level 1 run up df+fp is fun!

Add in his excellent low jump game and this helps him contend with A-Terry.
I’d say he functions like a blend between Chun / Iori (minus grab)
Unlike both he can deal immense damage off a his lvl 3 to lvl 1.

chun’s level 1 is way better than terry’s, and iori doesn’t need level 1’s. his rekkas hurt more than enough already.

I think he’s talking about Terry’s level 3 super INTO level 1 super in N-Groove.

do you guys feel comftable sacrificing terrys hop for crossup for the n groove advantages?
im still trying to get used to it…

Corpse hopping doesn’t work against anybody that you’d have to try to win aganst anyway.

That is false.

Bas Corpse hops with Bison all day… after certain knockdowns for instance or a two player cross up situation he will will corpse hop and go for cr.short, cr. jab, cr. foward into scissors, it’s hella buff.

But maybe thats just cause Bas doesn’t have to try that hard to win?

You missed the point besides. I said a blend of.
Meaning the gameplan has strong similarities with those other two characters, minus things that those characters can abuse that define them.
And Chun’s aren’t safe if you miss so there.:arazz:

ok. if you say so.

I’ve been fooling around with K-Ken, Cammy, Sagat in that order. Should my comfort level for Ken over Cammy influence my order? Or more specifically, if I think I’m “better” with Ken should I put him first or second?

If you aren’t comfortable with Cammy don’t play her.

why are you forcing yourself to play a character u dont even feel comftable with? its not because almost evrybody plays cammy that u should , the only charc i say is a must to be at least mediocre with is vega and blanka, becose they r the show stopers round cvs2
