Dude, I need to say this now…
Charlie is getting pretty damn hard to fight up against…why?
He’s got CE. Guile like poking range+priority and his Sonic Boom is CE. Guile recovery. Not to mention he’s got Ex-Options with Ex-Sonic Boom which goes across the screen faster then the Hadouken. Jumping medium Kick crosses up so easily because it has a huge hit box. He’s got an aerial Flash Kick.
He can play a CE. Guile like Sonicboom game because he recovers so fast. S.fp has huge range and priority, while c.mk has ridiculous poking range. Ryu back in the days was able to have a slight advantage, simply because his hurricane kick was faster, and he had an much better Hadouken game.
However in here, CvsS2-Remix, Ryu get’s just completely annihilated by Charlie, even with the faster projectile. Simply because it doesn’t recover as fast as his OG version. Even when I Hurricane Kick on SB, at sweep range, he’s fast enough to get down and punish me with a c.fp. Since the Hurricane kick is slower on startup, I have to actually anticipate a SB before hand to really punish him+unlike some of the other Ex characters, he’s got a dash roll. To make matters worst, He has a Custom Combo…dear gosh, one mistake, and I’ll eat a CC without question. F.fkxxxRepeat until near the end, then end with a Super….
Even when I tried to use Claw up against Charlie, simply because Claw has always done good up against Guile in the past, hoping that it would make a difference here.
You get some poking range…however that stupid c.mk has too much priority and range. I can go under SB with slide, however if my c.fk gets blocked…I can get punished by Charlie’s c.mk…:shake:. I can’t remember correctly, but I believe you can also get CC’ed off a blocked c.fk from Charlie if your Claw. Imo, Charlie is crazy powerful in this game, excellent normals, great regular specials, + CC’s, and a powerful poking/spacing/zoning game due to his CE. Guile like priority and moves. Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention, Charlie has like an air guard, or Air Parry as well…sigh.
Dhalsim is also another character, who is really, really powerful. I mentioned it earlier, however more messing around today. His pokes are crazy, and his teleport where he makes 2 versions of himself, and to make matters more annoying, both of them, can do two different moves/attacks simultaneously. Making it very annoying, if I remember correctly here, if you kill the clone, it doesn’t take any damage away from the original. Sim. Dhalsim’s Yoga Flame has a gigantic hit box, even when I anticipated it and rolled right next to Sim on his Yoga Flame…I still got hit:mad:, I thought it would’ve missed since the animation is off however…yep, still get hit. Shit sticks out like half the screen almost and last quite awhile, I tried to jump over it from outside sweep range, you simply can’t do it.
Sim has this Blanka roll too, which takes off a hefty chunk of your life, and it’s really, really fast, much faster then Blanka Roll. Lol, I got pissed off a few times, because Dhalsim could levitate and stay floating in the air, moving well beyond anyones jumping range. My brother smacked me a few times and did that until time ran out…completely annoyed me. I told him, he couldn’t use that anymore simply because no other character can attack you beyond that height and point.
To me, Charlie and Dhalsim can be arguably one of the two best characters in this game.
I tried Sakura, and her CC is still solid, but it doesn’t feel to have as much of it’s danger factor anymore, simply because many of the characters don’t have the guard break meter, while others do. If you do up against against someone with guardbreak, you can get the potential of her Sho-Sho CC, but on someone without it, all you can do really is get chip damage.
Yang was one of the characters, I tried experimenting today, and so far, he seems okay. He seems to move slower, due to him utilizing more of his 3S Engine. His divekicks are still good and his Ex-Options are still solid too, and him having all of his specials help too, and yeah, being an Ex-Character he has access to 3-Super Stocks which imo are a great asset.
The biggest asset that he brings from 3S is definetly the Parry System. Since the Parry for him is way more lenient then then P-Groove, he can annoy alot of the characters who rely heavily on poking. Especially Parry>>>C.mk>>>Ex-Tourou’s or else if you have bar Parry c.mk>>>Raishin-Mahhaken.
This changes alot of characters poking games in the Remix going up against Yang…not to mention it doesn’t have the poor handicaps of the P-Groove either. Imo, this Yang is better then his 3S Yang, simply due to 3 super stocks and full access to all of his supers.
So far, this is what I’ve been messing around with, imo, Team Dhalsim/Charlie is one of the best in the game. Hope you guys have fun with reading my stuff again, lolz.
