Why don’t we make the tobacco companies remove all the carcinogenic shit that’s in cigarettes to begin with? I know it’s not the best thing a person can consume, but for eons people have used the stuff without it causing mass cases of chronic disease.

It should be illegal anyway. I never understood how cigarettes are legal but marijuana isn’t, and you have the average American passing moral judgment on marijuana while insisting smoking cigarettes is a choice. Absolutely absurd.
It takes a special type of corrupt government and a special type of stupid population to come up with something like that. Most people are simply incapable of logically thinking and can only repeat what they’ve been taught through schools and media propaganda. Even a supposedly intelligent person like that Gupta guy, he was on a war against marijuana for so long and then when he starts seeing the tide turning he jumped to the other side and insists marijuana is great and should be legal. But people don’t stop and think if a supposed expert like him can flop like that, why would you believe in his credibility for anything else?
And that is ultimately why no government can be for the people. Every government seeks to simply transfer wealth from its populace to the elites, and to control the population to the rules of the elites. There is no such thing as freedom, there is certainly no value to “experts” in anything. It is simply what you are allowed to do and what you are not allowed to do at the whim of another.
If you want to destroy your liver and lungs, that is okay because the elites have cornered those markets. If you want some recreational natural drug to unwind, that is not legal, especially since you can grow it yourself. If you want to use home remedies to stay healthy, well they will do their damnedest to stop you from that too. They’ll insist vitamins and supplements, exercise, eating with nutrition in mind are all worthless, and you instead must go and spend and see a doctor. Hell now they’ve gone to the point of forcing healthcare on everyone after all.
Sorry for the rant, but it is just so obvious with cigarettes that they’re just not even trying to hide it. Hell I don’t even know how McDonalds and Coca-Cola are legal. Did you know McDonalds and KFC and those other fast food places don’t even exist in Israel? Deemed too unhealthy, so they were kicked out. That is an intelligent population that is much closer to being free.

2 things about that. First, there wasn’t an industry of massive farms producing tons of the stuff. There was what the natives could collect in the wild, and it wasn’t bred to be mild enough to smoke in an serious quantities, so they shared one bowl of raw tobacco among whole groups of men.
And 2, if there are any solids in whatever you’re burning, you’re going to get carcinogens. Tobacco’s been a major trade product for 400 years now, and in that time it’s been causing cancer. The reason earlier smokeables didn’t have that issue is people tended to die of other things before they got to that stage. Smoking tons of opium would tend to have that effect.
Also, fun fact, the FDA tried to have the first shipment of e-cigs from China seized, claiming that they were an unauthorized method of drug delivery! Which is completely true! But the courts said no, and so now everyone can get their, much healthier, nicotine fix.
I would need to look into what our profit line is for walgreens, but I don’t believe we get a lot of profit out of it. Not like Rx prescriptions or cosmetics.
That’s true. A huge amount of the cost of cigarettes is just taxes. Businesses only make money off them through sheer volume, not on price-per-unit.
