They must have lowered the price, considering I read they were $5 a month from an older thread. I would donate this forum actually, but not to “neg rep” other users. Either way, I have lot of debts to pay IRL to bother donating to any forum or fansite at the moment.
Still, I love it how you use the cliched you “only joined a month ago” argument to invalidate my point.
I didn’t pay for a year so I could have a animated avatar I paid so I could help keep this site alive how else would you post stupid shit. I like hand drawn sprites like the new KOF but I don’t see it happening if there was a CvS3 too expensive
I didn’t meant to mock the whole community though, just the whole concept of the rep system. I wasn’t aware Premium Accounts were here establish to help maintain the site (I thought it was more of an elitism type of thing), although I don’t know know why not just ask visitors to donate to a Paypal account like every other site does.
Still, you guys are asking people to donate to an internet forum about fighting games, which is still somewhat geeky (no offense intended). Its not like most of you are out researching treatments for AIDS or anything.
I enjoyed the CVS series but it certainly could have been better, considering the quality that was 3s…CVS was a huge dip in quality on every front. Personally speaking, Capcom should just ultalize high level 3D character models mixed with cel shading…something to the effect of the CVS2 character portraits. I would also suggest a complete overhual on the roster list, and just skip the grooves concept and just adapt a engine that plays like SF…this game could really be something with the right amount of attention and care.
If there is a CvS3 being planned after SF4, I hope its not going to be developed on a Wii-based technology simply because it would be nice to play it on PS3/360.
I’m just saying that users with Premium Accounts aren’t exactly deserving of placing themselves in a pedestal. We’re all here because of a mutual interest (which is fighting games). I would donate for a premium account, but I can barely support myself as it is.
Can you direct me to an FAQ thread about Premium Accounts? I don’t feel like posting more questions here.
I’ve been following this thread, and am entertained.
I found this post worth responding to though. (Shit… am I a troll? I still don’t quite understand that concept.)
Anyway, the reason I became premium was to support SRK and MrWizard’s efforts here. I find it very nice that he gives added incentive to do so, by increasing my av size limit, doing away with time limit per posts, getting rid of ads, giving me shield displays of my posts, and adding the rep system. These things don’t compare to the real reason for becoming premium, for donating, which, again, is to support.
Supporting SRK supports EVO. Because of SRK and EVO, the fighting game community is what it is today. I have little doubt that SFIV is a direct result of EVO, especially since Capcom has been so involved in them recently. SRK is worth supporting, and its foolish to compare donation/volunteer efforts. It’s like saying, “why would you spend an extra dollar on your food when you can just donate it?”
Although, I do think this would be a better world if we all lived minimally, and collectively focused our efforts towards a mutually beneficial goal. So maybe I’m a hypcrite haha.
Thank you. I was aware that some SRK mods and posters were connected to EVO, but I wasn’t aware that SRK itself was directly tied to EVO. Again, sorry if I offended anyone with my posts.
if they ever make a CVS3, it should look like TvC but hi-res. Time and cost is the only reason they would never go the KoFXII route… less they go for a small roster like KoFXII
