I’m keeping an eye open, but we don’t have a hand in creating the ball itself so I have to wait and see what’s available. It’s a bit like shooting in the dark though
Ok, here’s some news for you all.
I’ve decided not to go ahead with a new batch. I’m losing my job in three weeks time and since somebody took half our business away from us I’m not willing to risk losing sales and ending up with no rent money. Also, as stated before, the love to do this just went completely out of the window when our work was stolen out from under us.
With that I am also leaving SRK for good, it’s just not the same any more.

I’m doin something similar myself. I haven’t decided if I’m LED modding it yet or not…would just need the LEDs though since I got an extra FGWidget laying around heh.

Unreal’s given me a boost. It is really cool that you guys care about us, and your messages are truly deeply appreciated.
As I said to him; it’s not really the money that’s holding me back, money has always been tight, but the joy of doing this has made money issues seem trivial. Since ‘the incident’ though, that joy took a pretty mortal wound and I have been trying my best to keep a stiff upper lip and pretend that it’s all fine, but the truth is that it’s not all fine in my head.
You could argue that these were bought off the shelf but here’s some back story for you; about a year or so ago I contacted Sanwa and Seimitsu with a few ideas for new top designs, in the hopes that they would take them on and produce some exciting new tops for us. I didn’t ask for anything in return, I simply wanted them to make them so that we could all have a greater choice. They told me that they just couldn’t produce them. Then I set about contacting plastics manufacturing companies around the world with my ideas, all of them said they could do them but I’d be looking at minimum runs of 10,000 units costing something like $30,000. Obviously I couldn’t stretch that far, so I resigned myself to the fact that it wasn’t happening. Then one day I had the idea that maybe I could find a company that specializes in balls, see what they have to offer and drill them myself, that’s when I came across this company. They couldn’t exactly make my designs, but they had a few things to show me. I didn’t have the setup or the skills to drill myself, but I knew of one suave mother fudger that did and so I asked BE what he thought about it, requested a sample and sent it up to him, he reported back that we could indeed drill these things and fit threads to them, so I ordered a batch and we got rolling (pun intended). It was great to see these things become a reality, and I got a great deal of joy out of shipping them out and seeing them put to use.
Now then, you imagine going through all of that only to have someone eyeball your work, piggyback off of the fact that you have already done all of the hard work, and then take your idea for themselves, pretty soul destroying right? Well that’s where I am.

I had actually logged on to say thanks for the balltops cause I got them yesterday and the lime one is exactly like the picture you posted? very good stuff…
But I saw your post and I think it sucks that you?re getting out but I fully understand your reasoning though cause I would feel the same way if I had gone thru all that trouble you went thru only to have this happen.
I hope you change your mind once everything gets better for you and you?re right don?t risk not paying rent to take a gamble on some balltops that may or may not sell fast enough for you to recoup your investment.

I got my balltop and last night after lots of ‘issues’ (I even loss my e-clip working on this damn thing) I finally got to install “precious”…

This is complete bull.
Needless to say, I’m not EVER buying anything from Butteroj, and I’ll make sure none of our guys either. After SK and BE supported us on two custom ball tops, I feel terrible for not being able to do anything about this. The least I can do is tell you that WE WILL NOT be buying anything butteroj related.
SK, keep your head up, if there is anything we (the KTB) can do, let us know.

Long time no news…
I’m considering starting up again after Christmas. I’ve been slowly getting back into sticks thanks largely to Voltech and his amazing work. The main reason is that people seem to be starting to believe that Butteroj developed these, and I’m not willing to accept that, and I know that some of you fellas are loyal to us, and I don’t want to deny those of you the opportunity to make your sticks awesome.
