There’s been far too many requests to keep track of as some of these colours have been far more popular than we could imagine. Instead we’re going to give people a heads up a couple of days prior to me putting them up on the site and put them up at a reasonable time (like noon PST for example) so that everybody has the chance to grab what they want. It seems like teh fairest way of doing it, especially as no 2 balls have been identical from either batch yet.
Can I call dibs on the #5 ball, and is it a 38 mm one? If yes on both questions, PM me with details on payment please.

I just got back from the Del Mar Fair in California, USA. I was visiting the gemstone and mineral exhibit and saw some elegant pieces of minerals and rocks…then I came across some shaped into spheres. First thing that came to mind was, “wow…those are some awesome balls!” And for a lack of better words, I said to my wife, “I want those balls!”. And she punched me in the arm.
Anyways getting onto the point, I was wondering if I get a batch or so, if you guys would be willing to place some inserts inside. Now I’m not sure if it’s the same materials you guys have, but it’s made from mineral, so it may be a bit more fragile, I don’t know.
I will post the pictures up later this afternoon as I am not at home at the moment…they are a litlle pricey…to me, but maybe I cam haggle with the seller. I’m going back on the 26th for beer fest. I’ll make sure to get some and go back to the car before letting loose for beer fest!
I would avoid it as I would expect them to crack under a drill, and even if you got them drilled and inserted there’s no telling how long they long would hold up to usage as a top. The other issues would be posting them to us and back, could be pricey.

Those do look very cool Weezy. Seeing them, I’m pretty certain now that most of them would probably explode into a fine mist under a drill. Also they look pretty weighty, not sure how badly something like that would throw off return to center etc.
Unexciting update for batch 3: The factory office says that they will have something for me by the end of the week, but they can’t tell me if all of my order is in the package or not until they receive the shipment from the factory, if it’s all there then I’ll have batch three by the weekend. Unfortunately BE is going to be out of the country from Sunday until the 8th July though, and I’ll be in Germany from the 3rd to the 10th, so these are probably not going to get finished up until after we’re back.
Best case scenario: I get an email tonight or tomorrow confirming my order, then BE receives them before the weekend and has time to finish plenty up before he goes away, giving me a week to ship them. Fingers crossed eh.
A lot of minerals are generally harder to cut that most materials. Quartz for example is even harder than glass and I reckon it’d be a major effort to drill without a diamond tipped bit.
They’d make some beautiful looking balltops, though.
