Nah I was gonna keep playing Yang in 2012 because I like the character, I haven’t been playing him that much recently though. I was playing him a lot before though. Nemo really inspired me to play him.

I know I’m just joking. It is freaking weird though, took us a while to figure out what happened.
Yang is still plenty viable, I was watching some 2012 matches and there was a yang going on a pretty long win streak.
I feel like he deserves the nerfs he got, they didn’t hurt anything he has THAT much except the MK roll kicks, He was harder to play than Yun, but he was still a pretty BS character, All his changes are going to do is make people work a little harder, not even that much, his only real normal that got nerfed was standing light kick, they may have nerfed the damage on cr. light kick but it’s fine. We’ll find out tonight if he is getting more things back or if he’s losing more.
Honestly, at first glance I thought the same exact thing but…some of his nerfs dont even change his game play much.
Rolling kick no projectile invc really doesnt bother me. I usually use EX CD or Dive kick to combo once i see that.
Command throw-It’s not as good as Yuns. I rarely use it because it comes out so slow. I rarely see Acqua and Nemo use it so i don’t use it.
Super-Who cares? His super is ass compared to his FADC options. Good players rarely use it.
ultras: Who cares? I feel like hes similar to Dudley, Bison, and Ibuki where he doesn’t really need one. Mantis slash-FADC-u2 really doesn’t do that much dmg. His u2 is very similar to ibukis u2 and whether or not it is worth it to use it or go for pressure/resets instead.
crmp-doesnt lead to anything, super sucks so this means nothing. It kept its same frame data so thats awesome being 1 frame faster than cr mk in poke wars.
TC2 is sad: Sometimes i use this in my block strings as opposed to using a lp mantis slash for a little something different for my opponent to see. This is a huge nerf imo.
st mp is sad: His best poke for sure. On hit to confirm into TC2 or cr mk to slashes is awesome to push someone to the corner.
Ex mantis: I never use this because the dmg/stun gain from HP mantis is minimal and not good.
jump mk makes me sad: now that cross up im sure is not even going to be scary. It was one of his best tools in the air to mix that up with a dive kick.
I still think he will be good but the fact that i cant do CR mk-Mp Palm-FADc-U2 or MP palm-fadc-st jab-cr mk-etc pisses me off and is definitely bad for him.
ending with MK rolling kicks might be his new bnb due to his dmg nerf on mantis…
Merkilo: Good players dont use his command grab that much anyway…its used…but nowhere near as often as yuns.
Needles: MK rolling kick is definitely not a big deal.
He got little nerfs to everything he does pretty much. I’d say his biggest nerfs were his j mk, tc2/stmp (kind of the same move in theory…) and his mp palm. You can’t combo into it now and there is no reason to ever risk FADCing it when you could just use one bar for the EX and get an u1 or u2 depending on positioning.
I think his ST LK is good but I like to use ST LP more because the range on that thing is god like and the amount of block stun it leaves is great. It’s really useful against Fei to punish mis spaced rekkas so that will be missed.
My biggest complaint about Blanka is finally getting fixed in 2012 (getting punished on hit for balls). Making me think about playing again. That and the people in this thread that are so scared shitless of the character that they can’t contain themselves every time his name is mentioned.
Blanka seems overall a better char from just reading the updates, I still wish his command dash worked like CvS2 lol where it was fast and very little recovery
All of his bad match ups are automatically better just because he won’t get punished on hit anymore. Rog gets no more free rush punches, Abel can still pressure Blanka, but not as mindlessly, can pressure Sim better and he (might) get in for free if you read a stand fierce… So much goodness.
His EX up ball does knockdown but puts you even closer on block. The risk is more now. Unless they changed it again. I just read about the upball.
