GGs in 3s to everyone last night, as you can tell I’m making an effort to learn more of the cast besides just Ken/Urien now. But shit, playing online is frustrating as fuck even against people in CT! Can’t parry single-hit basic moves that are preschool level-parries offline, can’t super cancel or get any kind of serious combos going. How anyone ever thought that GGPO netcode was good is beyond me, it has the same problems as every other game but MASKS THEM to make the game look better. I’d rather have a game run in slow motion than have it look like it’s a legit match, when in reality nobody can pull anything off.
I’ll again campaign for 3s SINGLES on the 18th. We have some of the best 3s players from the entire REGION attending New Challengers (Quotes, MarlinPie, the TGA crew) plus myself (got 3rd place at the last TGA 3s tourney ever) and Walter. Plus plenty of people who are playing the game for the first time. It’s a no-brainer and would draw numbers both in the tournament AND on the stream, since 3s is hot right now being the newest fighting game release. If setups are a concern, and I’m not trying to throw anyone under the bus here, but 3s will pull more numbers than MK…and it’s a better game than any of the three “modern” games at this time.

First off, if we do 3S teams I’d be down for that, 3v3 would be pretty cool but I think we could manage 2v2 also. We can gauge that day.
Kyriptic, are you going to the tourney on the 18th? I’m starting to learn Cammy as a sub and I was wondering if you could give me some pointers.

I think I’ll be able to make it the 18th, but Cammy probably isn’t a good sub if your trying to cover bad matchups. Pretty good chance that it’ll be a bad matchup for her as well if it is already for your main. Then there is the fact that any of her combos that do good damage are pretty strict 1 framers and character specific, she has a really shity armor breaker and no overhead. Its not all bad though I think she’s lots of fun to use because of her fast walk speed, good frame traps and mixup potential on knockdowns.
Thats why I’m using her, she’s so much fun. I figure I should probably sub a non-fireball character just to mix things up. Whether or not I’ll use her in a tournament I’ll deal with later. I just want to learn her for now.
I main cammy too! She is so much fun to play, especially when you’re using U2. It really destroys your opponent’s morale when you land it (or when they land it on cammy?) LOL
If people want a 3s tournament, i’d rather due 2 vs 2, but people would have to bring systems with 3s on it.
