train station is real close, and picking you up wouldnt be a problem, but it should be noted that the waterbury line and the new haven line (fairfield) are seperate, the waterbury line only runs every 2 hours or so, and the last train is probably way earlier than we would end on a friday night, it might be tough to use the train.
