CSULA (California State University, Los Angeles) - The Pitt

I only have a 1 gig of memory :frowning: I am sure that the game might be bigger than that. And who says The Pitt doesn’t allow console? We gotta organize a tourney on that sexy HD TV they have down there.

Hey Christian, you shouldn’t quit learning just because of the sticks. I have a Sanwa stick at home and I am more than happy to play on the HAPP sticks. Its just a matter of getting used to it. What I did was use characters that are better suited for the sticks. At first, I used charge characters on the Sanwa because that was a hell of a lot easier for me to play with than with characters who use QCF moves. The HAPP sticks were used for Shoto and 360 grapple characters.

Trust me, I had this same mentality when I was playing 3rd Strike when this Hori Tekken stick I had on PS2. It was just so much easier to play on a HAPP because that was what I had access to in the laundry mats back in the day  I mean hell, I am still pretty damn scrubby at fighting games, but I willl still be playing.

^i knew someone who was pretty good at 3s using a computer keyboard. :looney:

1p MvC2 got auto-block and now a handicap with no HP. :wtf:

@ R | C: Well it’s just that the HAPP is more stiff than what I’m used to… Sometimes, I try to jump forward and I jump straight up and end up getting punished for it… W… T… F…
Lol, and I choose P-groove and RARELY attempt to parry… I forget to since I’ve played C-Groove all the time. I’ll keep trying though I suppose… Thing that kills me is the delays in between combos that you must do in order to connect your hits… or else it whiffs the whole thing… SF combos are WAY different than the ones in GG & BB.
In BB & GG, combos are slightly easier to pull off and look more dynamic but in Street Fighter, it’s the total opposite.

@ SugaFree: Believe you me, I LIKE HAPP sticks too. When I first got my FIRST TE in the mail, I opened it and was feeling on the buttons and the stick (I expected it to be a HAPP since it was my first stick and knew nothing about them)… and I was like “WTF is this s***.
I CAN’T 360! IT’S A FREAKIN’ FULL SQUARE MOTION!”, but then I realized the clicks mean you hit the point in the corresponding motion and in a matter of 2 months, I got used to it.
I just want 3rd Strike back.
I miss Alex and yeah, I know that 2nd Impact is there, but he doesn’t have his DDT and his power bomb does mediocre damage.

SNAP. You get on that GGPO? And yea, Marvel 1p side is really stupid. I discovered that on Weds.

@HCG: I think we all miss Third Strike, I would definitely hop back on that when (and if) it returns. Keep playing CvS2 though, gotta expand on your fighting games son!

@RC: I noticed your sneaky ninja edit on the thread title. I am still learning ok!!!

I’d love to get on GGPO, but it’s not Mac friendly.
:frowning:

No BootCamp if no hard copy of Windows XP.
D:

Yeah, I’ll keep going at CvS2 in the meantime… I was just in the middle of those FM(CVS2)L moments.
xD
Just wish they had half circle grapplers in there… The only 360 grappler I like to play as is T. Hawk but he was negligently left out.
Dx

LOL that wasn’t directly at you. It was suppose to be a general “we’re still learning this game at csula” thread description.
But if you wanna take it personally, then I propose pistols at dawn, money match, or money match for pistols at dawn.

Yo Christian, you should give Vice a try in cvs2:

  • HCF + p (command grab)
  • HCB, F + p (another command grab)
  • HCB x 2 + k (super grab)
  • qcf x 2 + p (jumping super grab)

@RC: Hey man, get on this A-Groove Sagat

Bahabababahabububububuh

PORK CHOP SANDWICHES

By the way, is anybody considering picking up Tatsunoko vs Capcom? I might pick it up if I wasn’t on low on cash.

Just imagine all the money I would have saved if I didn’t spend any at the pit lol

Well, as a matter of fact, I just got it today and I’ve pretty much been playing it all day today… My team is Zero and Joe the Condor/Alex.
I spent the whole day trying to unlock the new characters - I just need to unlock Yatterman No. 2, but I don’t really care about her, I just wanted Zero and Joe.

Joe the Condor is pretty difficult to use… Much slower than Ken the Eagle… but it’s only day one anyway. xD
Zero is great. He has a nice pressure game and his Level 3 super does MASSIVE damage.
Alex is one of my main guys of course. His Hyper Bomb is much better here and does A LOT of damage as well.

Unfortunately, I’ve been playing on the classic controller since I don’t have a Wii stick at the moment. It sucks using it because sometimes, instead of an air launch move, I get something else, that whiffs my entire combo in the process… I don’t have enough money for the new TvC fight stick that just came out with it, so I need to start saving up… 79.99.
I NEED a stick for all my fighting games now.
>.<;

Get on this.

I use this (though not sure where I left it…) It is a great converter if you got a PS2 stick then you are good to go. PS2 pad also works equally as good.

Not me; don’t feel like buying a stick just for TvC.

Sugafree:

Monster Hunter Instructrions to play online:

  1. Download “Adhoc Party” from PSN - it’s free - it allows you to create lobbies to play psp games online with other people using adhoc mode.
  2. In Adhoc party, “create a room” or “join a room”
  3. Once inside a room with players, go into the “online guild hall” in the Monster Hunter game. If done correctly, a PSP icon should light up in the Adhoc party room.
  4. From there you can post or join quests with other players.

Adhoc party does have a room chat for everyone.
NOTE: PS3 has to be hard wired to router for adhoc party to work.

Let me know if MH actually works on your psp. If it does, I recommend trying out the “single player quests” to get a feel for the game. There’s also a “Training” area where the game will teach you how to play.

Just use a converter for it or a Classic Controller. It works fine.

I am going to try to get Monster Hunter to work. I am crossing my fingers.

EDIT: Ah, no dice. This is what it says:

“This content cannot be accessed on your account”

^ Damn. Yeah, we’ll try your suggestion, bring psp tomorrow (Wed) and I’ll see if I can get it on there.
If not, then I’ll let you borrow the UMD since I have that too.

Someone told me that there is some sort of game night on Friday nights at CSULA? I can’t really go to the PIT and check, because I go to work right after class.

If there is any sort of Friday night game night, then this would be the first time I ever heard of it.

I am only at CSULA on Mondays and Weds and from what I hear those are the days when there is the most comp.

OMG I’m looking at my fallout3 achievements and it says I started Jan17 - Jan27.
10 days, 6 achievements left. :wasted:

^Wow, and I had the game for almost 2 months now
