he means empty df palm (land behind) and start a combo with os crouch tech c.lk…
so basically, as an example:
you end your combo with lk tatsu > hp srk
you immediately go for hk demon flip pam (you’ll land behind them)
as soon as you land you press down and c.lp + c.lk
– if they did nothing you get a c.lk…if you hit them you can go for c.lp c.lp xx lk tatsu > whatever
– if they were mashing throw, you get a tech (because you pressed both c.lp AND c.lk together)
– if they block, you go into whatever blockstring you like.
Thsi can also be done after a sweep or f.throw or df throw…just gotta change the timing of the hk flip
I like this! I’ll have to practice it some to get it down (I suppose it’s my hand/finger positioning on my joystick), but this could help me have a “safer” option on cross-up DF palm setups than THROW, SRK or “JR” Demon…
Ow wow you had me thinking there was a reliable way to cross up palm (not even sure if it’s ever possible). I’m familliar with the two things you described, but thanks anyway for taking to explain it
EDIT: Superlollo, you say to immediately crouch tech when landing, but won’t this get you reversald if they go for one? I usually do this setup with a slight delay in the crouch tech, is there any disadvantage to delaying the crouch tech?
^^ the only disadvantage I notice is that it gives them slightly more time to realize which side of them you’re on. but the protection of not getting reversal dp’d and OS teching throws outweights the cost.
If I have two meters, I just like to do cross over with the df palm, and just do st. hp xx hadouken and hit confrim the FADC. Go big or go home. :woot:
1.You just need to stop doing random things and hoping they work. You seem to just input specials and if you see something hit (Like a Hadouken or dive kick) you just Ex Tatsu or SRK (lk.Tatsu into Ultra 1…?)
Why did you skip the 2nd round where your opponent won?
Air Hado that hits into Super? Then you teleport almost full screen away and do a random Ultra 1?
Why is it only one round?
Within the first few seconds, I see you nearly point blank to Adon and you neutral jump into HP Air Hado… why? He could easily AA you with a RJ or something.
@0:19, Dont waste meter on unconfirmed combos
@0:33 You land an overhead then immediately Ex SRK when you didnt have meter to burn on a FADC if it was blocked?
Im not trying to be mean its just you literally have no game plan. I see no use of spacing, zoning, footsies, combos, links, NOTHING. All you do is Air Hado, Hado, Tatsu, SRK cr.RH and random Supers and Ultra 1. Thats it. Ive never seen you use any other normal.
Against anyone who even has a general idea of how to play SF, I am convinced you would be beaten by just basics and fundamentals because I havent seen an ability to adapt in your videos. You just do the same old routine over and over: Jump back Air Hado (at the peak of your jump by the way, very punishable) and then you either Demon Flip in or you NJ Air Hado and then DF in.
Learn the basics of this game. Learn about links, meter management, spacing and zoning. Learn how to AA properly. Until you actually get these things down, all you will ever beat are people who have no idea what they are doing.
Try this: For the next week, try and win all of your matches without using a single random special attack. Focus on using your normals in order to win. You can use a hado, tatsu or SRK in a combo, but not without being linked into. I did this in order to stop myself from just fireballing and demon flipping all the time.
I’d pay money to see that vid! Actually, it would be pretty funny if he could actually win a round or two landing all that random shit on you!! I could just hear it now; “OHMYGOOOOOOD!!OHMYGOODDDDDDDDDD!!!”… Shades of DSP losing to that Flow Chart Ken 2 years ago!!
hahah, damn yeah, too bad i only have Vanilla for ps3. If he has it, i’m all for it!
If you have SF4 (not super), I’m adding you tonight and we can have a few matches. Didn’t buy Super for ps3 since i was playing on xbox 360 all the time in the last months of Vanilla
loool u shud have the superior version for both consoles your slacking lol, add me i swr u can still join fights but ppl using sf4 appear like there animated
I hear u but you would be surprised how many times lk.tatsu -> u1 actually works you just got to be lucky, i skipped this round bcus he won the round in a cheap fashion,oh and you would be surprised how many ppl i have caught off guard with these unorthodox techniques ie the round when i won with no life bar (",)
I only the recorded last round of tht particular fight, explain FADC im new to all the SF lingo… and i accept the challenge i will incorporate these ideas into my battles…
SKG, you’re catching these people with these tactics because all these fights you have posted up, the people have no clue how to play good SF4. Luck should never be something you purposely incorporate into your fights, it should just come once in a while that gives you the upper edge in times of desperation. The fact that you skip rounds where you lose disturbs me, because you can receive the most helpful critique in the matches/rounds that you lose. And the reason you give; of him winning in a “cheap” fashion, makes you look even scrubbier as a player.
I think the best thing to start off for you is to watch a lot of professional VODs, and learn how they play their Akuma; Tokido, Eita, Momochi (older videos), Ed Ma (older videos), Toxy, Shady K, etc. are all excellent Akuma players to look out for. Secondly, you need to go into training mode and practice your combos. Like Clx said, practice your hit confirms, links, and bread and butter combos. The completely retarded, unorthodox and dangerous stuff you do has not been improving at all and you have already heard several critiques from this thread from your earlier VODs. I suggest you take them to heart and apply them if you really want to become a better player.
