I can’t prove this, but I swear that CM matches are slightly laggier than Ranked or Player matches. And you can still “kick” or at least refuse to play against bad connections when doing CM, even if your Req. Match is turned on. I just assumed it would be a good connection when I saw it was a 4 bar, however it didn’t turn out as planned. The other bad connection was in the previous match against Abel - which was three bar. It was as bad as this match against bison. In fact, you can see at the beginning, I throw out some random standing normals just to see the timing which helped me settle into it a bit. But that’s because that Abel allowed me to do it as he backed off from the begining. The Bison player was pretty much in my face from the start so I didn’t get to test the input lag.
I’m going to try to hit up one of my “buddies” on XBL; Edge4o7 who, if I remember correctly, does play with Bison on occasion though his mains seem to be 'Sim and Rufus. Sadly, I get a three bar connection to him so there’s some considerable lag when playing him. I’ll see what I can do about recording a good Bison match with minimal lag this weekend though.
Hi, I’d like to be critiqued on my performance in these videos:

This was the first tournament I entered with Akuma so I wasn’t as confident as I usually am as opposed to Sagat, but I think I did pretty well. Against Dhalsim it was the first time I fight a Sim as Akuma, and unfortunately at the end when I did the exploding heart technique, I was expecting him to backdash and escape my demonflip kick which he did, but apparently that stuffs backdash, and I was too shocked I got the hit in since I had something else planned in mind, which led to that blunder at the end. Thank you for critiquing in advance, I really want to improve my Akuma game.

Nice Akuma. Fun watch.
I thought round one’s corner pressure Vs that Vega was pretty hot as well as those option selects to kill him in the third. Your zoning vs the Ken was very good. It feels like you play Akuma just like Ryu but with air fireballs.
@Bokkin. Gief is too strong. He just stood up after being murdered in the last round 1st vid. /facepalm
Bokkin, you’re good, why you posting vids here? :smokin:
No, serious, can’t see anything wrong with your Akuma, wish I could be up that league, but it surprised me you didn’t FB that round 1 Gief’s far lariat? :xeye:
The Ryu-match was pretty good, great show, luv it
It is usually a combo to show off. You use the EX Shaku for the faster recovery and then can combo into the EX Tatsu. It takes a whole super bar to do and is rarely worth it, but hey always nice eye candy. Though once in a while it comes in handy if you need just a little extra damage to KO someone.
Ya so I kinda suck. Just got my arcade stick, but I need some pointers definitely. Ignore the first round haha was kinda a warmup and also ignore my friend and I.
and Megaman is right that combo at 2;05 was to put the ryu back in the corner but I didn’t follow up with anything good
As in Mandel got in my head…and I couldn’t get him out…so I started to do unsafe things rather than play a safer game…soooo yeah lost composure…it’s not like I can’t play him…I beat him clean 2 weeks prior he just bested me in this match and played me not the character which again goes back to mental state aka composure (same thing happened against drew…I was gettin nervous and started jumping and he caught me with f+HK a bunch of times…and I almost lost). You really just talk outta yer ass and it’s gettin old (ps it’s not just me)
EDIT: Troll DK I post my vids here for 2 reasons…
1)Someone might point out something I missed/match up wise I don’t know (which if you see ANYTHING point it out)…I’ll sift through tons of post pointing out the obvious if I can get 1 that shows me something new
2) To show people who are newer what middle American lvl akuma looks like…you can’t just go from new->high lvl tactics…take steps
No matter how good (debatable) I get I will always be helpin out the newer people because not to long ago I was in their position…people if you wanna play send me a pm so I know if you FR me to accept it and it’s not just a random people my GT is b0kkin (zero not o) I’m on later but pretty often messin with cammy right now…
EDIT2: Ryokojr :
-less tatsu
-work on spacing
-just get comfortable with akuma’s speed you like to jump alot which leads to pain with akuma
-learn the triple threat BnB’s/Block strings/Block/hit string mix-ups I.e. cancels into demon flip/tick throws overhead…etc
-work on links/hit confirming
do all those in unison (don’t just focus on one at a time) and you’ll be good in no time…there’s a guy near me who blew me away with how quick he picked up akuma and just this game in general by working on those…
It’s possible to get 3 hits from the ex tatsu ender as well. So potentially if you time it correctly you can always put your opponent in the corner no matter what side you’re on.
bokkin im watching the chun vid right now, i have it paused its the begining of the 2nd round and you have jump back air hado into hl demon flip 3 times… need to mix it up a little bit more, getting sort of predictable that round. when you see your demon flip getting beaten that bad you are using it far to much from full screen, you should have found another way in. you did a hell of allot better than i would have done im just giving you my $0.02. im sure you know this in retrospect watching the vids yourself, maybe im stating the obvious.
I might add as far as combos go, you were trying to perform the loop many times over and failed several times. If you aren’t hitting the loop just forget about it and punish with something you can hit consistently. The loop is a great tool, but if you aren’t hitting that link properly then you are giving up tons of damage.
BnBs (you bread n butter combos for punishing whiff stuff ultras/shoryukens etc…
when you see me demon flip after a string for mix-up is a it/block string mix up…also into overheads or into throws (cLPx2-throw)
links (comboing from one normal to another I.E. cLP-cLP-cMP->whatever special)
hit confirming (noticing that your moves are hitting and linking into a special for dmg)
d2m
good stuff that GeoM guy is no joke…only thing I saw was you can zone him pretty easy once you have the life lead with lp shaka-hp shaka mixings…but he wasn’t handling the pressure very well so you went with what was working…
Edit:
DJMOJO yeah that goes back to my loosing composure…I wanted to get in so bad i was making costly and repetitive risky mistakes…I have checked myself and will try and break that mindset…
I have heard that it is used to shove someone in the corner before, but I generally find it is hard after blowing your whole super bar to follow it up with something good since the KD is techable.
