Hello:
So jab/short or nothing into fierce tk feint requires really fast input. I do them with lp+mp feint, I don’t see how I can do them any other way(6 button joystick). But watching Latif play, his input is showing mp+hp feint, which is insane. I don’t get how anyone can possibly do this without some special way of inputting. Any ideas are welcomed, please help a fellow viper.
Thanks SRK

its actually not strict like empty heavy tk cancel. normal in to feint feels easier.
just practice hit hp and hp and mp right after
Thanks man. I was trying to remap my buttons too lol, putting PPP into lp was working for me a bit, but i realized i couldnt do light tk which is useful against Guile. Anyway, back to training mode.

mapping buttons on stick is a terrible idea lol.

The trick is that the special cancel (c.lk into hp.tk) can be done as fast as you want. The faster you do it, the more time you have to input hp+mp to feint.

Ive beeing trying to do this in the way you said before and i feel that do as fast as u see in this video is impossible. So is there any other way to do this cancel like piano or kara cancel to do it faster.
Scrubby as it might be, I use the ppp to cancel the FP tk by drumming the FP followed by the ppp while I do the tk motion

that actually sounds much harder but whatever makes u feel comfortable lol
It’s way too easy for me, but I have my buttons set up really weird. (8 button stick is necessary) So you’ll place your pinky along the Light attacks and index along the 3’s. Use your middle knuckle of each finger for kicks. So when you cancel you just press HP and 3P really quick in succession. It takes some time to get used to setting your buttons in such an awkward way, and practicing the execution of the cancel to avoid getting accidental EX moves. But once you do it, cancels become way too easy. SF4’s inputs are so lenient that it works wonders as long as you make conscious efforts to change the way you do your inputs. (Like with seismo you can just double-tap df twice or roll from db to df twice, etc.) Just spend time in training mode figuring out different ways to input old techniques and you’ll find what works for you best.
3P - HP - MP - LP
3K - HK - MK - LK
I wouldn’t recommend using that guys layout. I’m a big advocate of using default layouts because button checks are easier and if you play at the arcade you wont have any problems. Anyway.
Honestly I use strong+fierce for almost all of my feints, hell I naked fierce feint with strong+fierce. The only time I use jab+strong is when I do jab seismo or tk feints. I find doing the cr.short xx fierce feint easier that FFF just because the button presses are more rhythmic. It’s just bam bam bam. It really isn’t that fast.
First of all, unless you are a seasoned Viper, I wouldn’t even bother trying to seismo/TK feint like an epileptic child because it will only make you worse. I see a lot of Vipers doing crazy cancels and shit for no reason and get bodied for it. I was the same way when I started with Viper. I would try to non stop seismo and TK cancel and I would basically never win. I asked myself why I was trying to do all these and I couldn’t find an answer besides wanting to be flashy, which is completely fucking ridiculous when I didn’t even have her correct fundamentals down.
So yea learn Viper’s fundies before you incorporate crazy cancelling into your game. There is much more important stuff to learn about her than rapid cancelling. Sure it looks sweet, but unless you are doing it for a purpose, then it really is about as impractical as you can get.
Just practice ppl, you cant expect to do all the advanced stuff day 1. When i started i couldn’t even do a raw fp tk feint, now they seem easy. /shrug
