God, I hope the smooth brains in my state (Texas) won’t try that shit when I go back for my second dose.

Yeah, I’d be fine with a bare minimum of one year in jail for every one of those fuckers. It’s not “demonstrating”/“protesting” at that point; it’s actively endangering lives by blocking access. Some of the victims of that protest were waiting weeks to get an appointment. Imagine waiting that long to get inoculated and having these fuck heads fuck it up at literally the last minute.

TWiV 713: COVID-19 clinical update #47 with Dr. Daniel Griffin

  • Vegan vaccines? Waaaat. . .

  • Unknown exact data on may be reduction and potential transmission of virus with current vaccines trials. Unknown if current vaccines prevent viral transmission.

How to protect yourself from the new coronavirus strains

Antibodies good, but wouldn’t you rather not get antibodied for a Perfect K.O.?!

Now some grim statistics, if you’re in a position to talk to someone about vaccines - make the effort.

AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine: Study finds COVID-19 vaccine may reduce virus transmission

Age groups that sustain resurging COVID-19 epidemics in
the United States

Conclusions

This study provides evidence that the resurgent COVID-19 epidemics in the US in 2020 have been driven by adults aged 20-49, and in particular adults aged 35-49, before and after school reopening. Unlike pandemic flu, these adults accounted after school reopening in October, 2020 for an estimated 72.2% [68.6%-75.9%] of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the US locations considered, whereas less than 5% originated from children aged 0-9 and less than 10% from teens aged 10-19. The population mobility data, and the death data provided by state and city Departments of Health reveal heterogeneous disease spread in the US, with higher transmission risk per venue visit attributed to individuals aged 20-49 over distinct time periods, and younger epidemics with a greater share of individuals aged 20-34 among cumulated infections in the South, South-western, and Western regions of the US. Over time, the share of age groups among reported deaths has been remarkably constant, suggesting that young adults are unlikely to have been the primary source of resurgent epidemics since summer 2020, and that instead changes in mobility and behavior among the broader group of adults aged 20-49 underlie resurgent COVID-19 in the US in 2020. This study indicates that in locations where novel highly-transmissible SARS-CoV-2 lineages have not yet established, additional interventions among adults aged 20-49, such as mass vaccination with transmission-blocking vaccines, could bring resurgent COVID-19 epidemics under control and avert deaths.

A rebuttal for those people…

I don’t know why this popped up in my news this morning, but the CDC appears to have finally gotten on board with clear messaging about aerosol transmission back in October. Better late than never I guess.

I guess if you try to avoid everyone like the plague, and keep your distance from everyone, you avoid not just the easily transmittable viruses, but the other viruses too.

I can’t remember when last someone actually had a serious cold or the flu.

Bruh, I got sick ONCE in 2020. That was in January.

At the start of the pandemic, some of my co-workers had a very nasty flu. One went to total crap through the course of their shift, and another went to Florida as this was jumping off to Spring Break and came back sick. Got tested. No hit for Covid at that time.

Still, very tense times cashing those checks.

I’ve been lucky for a while now. At this point, I’m going to attribute it to my based doctor who years ago had my blood work done and suggested I begin supplementing my Vitamin D and E levels. Working an office job in the Midwest at the time, I was comically deficient in Vitamin D. Apparently it is a useful supplement in these pandemic times as well.

It’s a cost savings. That’s - drunk math’n here. . . less than one weeks worth (25 hours) of $4 “hero pay”.

Wuhan remembers Li Wenliang, the ‘whistleblower’ doctor who first warned about the COVID-19 outbreak.

Remembered to not give up hope and pray April is the break that has been forecasted since August. Lock down and arctic front moving into the area has made things more unpleasant. I had forgotten about the Superspreader Bowl, so I’m expecting gatherings will give a bump in the USA. :expressionless:

Florida and other red states make sure to keep covid spreading

Nice. Did you manage to isolate the partisan spike receptor of the virus, or are you just playing smooth brain politics during a global pandemic?

Congratulations, you’ve acheived Peak American.

Miami-Dade needs to work harder to catch up to Los Angeles county. Data’s free, your level of discourse doesn’t need to be FREE.

Tired of this virus, tired of imbeciles spreading it and not being informed about it.

So it’s been basically a month since I had covid and my temp is still random as fuck. I’m not sick but my internal temp is wonky. Normally my temp it 96.7 like that’s how it is 99.9% of the time. It it’s higher than that I tend to get paranoid because usually it means I’m getting sick but I’m usually good at recognizing that.

But since getting covid my temp is fuckin nutty. Whenever I use the thermogun at jiu jitsu it says I’m fuckin 99-100. And I’m not even sure wtf to do because I’m not sick but that temp is wild.

Temp guns are inaccurate AF.
My temp check at the beginning of my shifts have been reading 90.XX all the last week.

I ain’t dead …
