Yea i don’t know how they logically came to that conclusion. Saying they’re much less symptomatic is one thing. Just flat out saying they aren’t spreaders is complete bullshit. Kids don’t give a fuck about germs at all.

The problem is that so many people simply do not understand how science as a whole works. Since covid became a thing, science has been working exactly as it always has. You learn something the next day that contradicts what you had learned/thought previously. And that is okay. It’s part of science.
The problem is all these fucking idiots don’t understand this and they are just used to seeing the end of science. They aren’t used to seeing science actually play out in real time going from point A to point B to point C, etc. They are simply just used to ONLY being exposed to point Z when everything is fleshed out.
Any fucking doctor will tell you how much medicine has changed and is constantly changing. My dad was a doctor and I remember him telling me how much medicine changes in like 5 years. And he has been dead since 2012 so this was a while ago, and things are progressing even faster now.
I mean hell when I grew up with asthma, I was using. an inhaler 3-4 times a day. Then when I was in my early 20’s, Advair was a new thing that had been around a few years and I. got on that and I haven’t used my inhaler since. And now there are newer asthma medicines but I haven’t switched off advair since it works and I use it way less than you are supposed to.
It’s just that we are full. of a country full of fucking idiots who don’t understand how things work in scientific fields. But I can’t even blame them because the dumbass in charge of the country doesn’t understand it either and they are all his sheep.

Which is all fine and makes sense, but they arent talking to scientists, they are talking to the general public.
Don’t make deffinitive statements you have to run back the next week, it just makes people doubt you and gives ammo to the Anti’s.
Also people don’t understand how science works because education in this country is fucking jokes. It’s no wonder they don’t get it.

Yeah but the general public is relaying findings of science as things are happening and changing. At the time they are the results and what is known so they are “definitive” at the time. It’s constantly evolving though and can change. This isn’t 2+2 = 4.
Like people going back to Fauci saying not to use masks back in March, and they still bring that shit up. That is over 4 months ago and that is a long ass time in science and things change and they have. They have learned more about the virus and now recommend masks. Also at the time they didn’t want to cause a shortage of masks so front liners could have them.
But it all boils down to what you said at the end - people are stupid as shit in our country because they are uneducated.

As you confirmed a lot of it is an education problem. Pertho brings up good points to we have such shitty leaders right now that a lot of people don’t trust them, no matter who they are. Got Trump running back his months of Anti-Mask bullshit then going out in public the very next day maskless. The CDC has punted this pretty badly and the WHO has been kind of joke on it it to, so people wonder why they should trust any of these people.

Well the mask thing is a pivot in strategy. If Trump wasnt a complete disaster at communicating serious information, he could go om TV and explain that part of it.
But he cant. It isnt abiut making this political, this is the worst thing that could happen based on how he talks.
There are other similar issues when it comes to a lot of other things. People are restricting solutions primarily on their what their voter bases may think of them.
CoVid is basically those crazy 10 part questions you would get on college finals with a limitef time frame to answer it. This wasnt going to be easily skirted by some political platitudes.

Yeah the general public is stupid though. That is part of the problem with all the access to information today too. You have all these uneducated idiots talking about things like the science behind medicine and virus like they have any clue. I mean you have the fucking president talking about hydrowhateverthefuckitscalled like he is a doctor and his camp (stupid people) are eating it up.
You have people listening to layman instead of experts in the field who have been studying it for 50+ years.
Trump and his followers would rather take basketball advice from Trump than Michael Jordan or Lebron James. It’s just incredible how stupid these people are.
And yes, it 100% starts with the absolutely shitty leadership of this country. I truly wish it was easy to leave the country and live elsewhere because that is exactly what I would do.

I was watching the “briefing” last night which is the first one I’ve ever watched and will be the last. He literally spent 30 seconds talking about the “china virus” and then spent the next 10 minutes talking about his convention. After that he showed a map of how bad the US is right now basically said “if you ignore the south and the west the numbers in the USA are looking great”. So yeah, let’s just completely ignore 1/2 of the fucking country.
Any real leader would get up there and say “we are in a terrible place and it’s unacceptable and this is how we’re going to fight this thing.”
But we don’t have anything close to a leader.

My county went into a level 3 emergency last night. Cities of Cleveland and Columbus were listed among some cities in Ohio where it is getting really bad. Ancient Armor and shield parry on lock BOTW style is my mindset.
Dr. Fauci said months ago that we don’t need to wear a mask and people often repeat this. They conveniently leave out the fact that along with that, he said “This could change.” I guess anti-masksers are fine with omitting things as long as it keeps the mask off their faces. I guess they also forgot that rights also come with responsibilities.
