Hydrochloroquine reminds me of the word HohoQ from the days of Bleach Manga/Anime. Funnily enough Bleach is is what trump suggested you pour down your ass. Did Tite Kube know something we didnt?

By this logic we may as well quarantine for a few more years. Or you just choose not to work where you don’t feel safe too.
these memes about dying are a bit wack as your chances of death from this is still pretty low. I mean you take a gamble when you go outside from dying from a variety of things. Spider bite, car crash, armed robbery, etc. Telling you all, things will get more tense the longer it goes. Lets see how much more peeps here will put up with things.

I really think we’ve barely scratched the surface of whats to come.
There’s going to be so much underlying impacts than the immediate shit going on now.

I agree. Let’s not conflate the fact that the causes you mention are in fact equal to preventative measures for an infectious disease. Not saying we won’t get there, but a lot of this is based on behavior modification. Having the proper measures in place account for how this thing is being spread. People going full jackass right now isn’t the answer.

The thing about CoVid isn’t the death rate, which is bad enough but maybe you look at it and like your odds.
The thing is the hospitalization rate. Which when CoVid spreads under business as usual conditions lead to the hospitals being overwhelmed. Which means that lots of people who would have survived with normal hospital care end up dead. Not just CoVid cases, deaths from all causes that the hospitals could have treated. This is what happened in northern Italy, and northern Italy has a medical system that is extremely comparable to the United States’.
So where does that leave us as things open up?
Well, we better hope that the people around us continue to do what they can to minimize the spread despite the fact that Karen wants her haircut, won’t wear a mask, and brought her gun.
And we better hope that our hospitals have managed to increase their intensive care capacities despite a Federal government that created an environment that’s actively hostile to them procuring even basic medical supplies.
So hey, maybe we’ll be fine. /shrug emoji

We need this quoted in the OP.

I try not to adjust the OP too much because apparently there’s a limit on how many times a non-mod can make an edit. But maybe I’ll tinker with it after work today.

Lol should’ve explained that. Edit all you can then hit me up for the additional edits. Wasn’t meant to stop you form messing with it; was just explaining a discourse limitation.

Getting to phase 2 basically means that the vaccine candidate itself doesn’t seem to kill people who take it.

Welp . . . . . . the guidelines to give some semblance of when to open things back up has been shelved apparently.

It’s why I’m extending my medical leave until 9/1 cause just because shit is opening doesn’t mean I have to be stuck in the shit

This is my biggest fear about opening the country up prematurely. A lot of people don’t follow the guidelines, and that is going to increase the risk of spread.
I’ve been up range for mission support twice in the last two weeks, and both times I’ve witnessed right wing dudes bitching about how stupid our governor is (she’s a democrat and as of now we are still in a Shelter-in-Place ordinance statewide). That’s fine, they have every right to express their opinions and concerns. The problem is, on both occasions, I’m out there with a mask on trying to social distance and these dudes are coming all up in my personal space talking at me without a mask. It is U.S. Army policy that we are to wear face covers when on base. This is from the General.
I don’t care what they think about politics and whether the governor is doing a good job or shitty job. I do care that they are blatantly breaking policy and putting me and everyone around them in potential danger.
And I see this same behavior when I make a grocery run, or gas up at the pumps. People just don’t want to protect others during this pandemic. That’s what scares me about opening up. People, en masse, are going to continue to ignore our first line of defense against the spread.
I get everyone’s concern about economic failure. And I understand that a scientist who says we need to stay shut down doesn’t have the only seat at the table. We are so divided by the issue right now, and nobody is going to turn away from their beliefs. We are just going to pick from the data whatever supports our own personal position.
But for god’s sake, people, CAN YOU PUT A FUCKING MASK ON WHEN YOU ARE AROUND OTHERS?

I tell people to back up if they get too close, and I have 0 hesitation about it. Had some customers side eye me like I’m an asshole but I don’t care and I have my bosses full suppprt.
Back the fuck up. Personal space guys. You don’t need to be so close that you’re mouth breathing on me.
