So interesting how “All lives matter” isn’t heard but now “my body my choice”.

It’s almost as if both those sentences are slogans more than actual statements.

Anybody get a letter from the US treasury written by Trump? The letter is hilarious. Never read something so self congratulatory.

Yeah and I also chuckled at the fact that I didn’t even get this notification letter until over a full month after getting my stimulus money. Lol

Have a small dilemma: sister wants to have a cook out. Think between dealing with my mom’s cancer, her husband lockdown on base unable to come home and regular quarantine, things are getting to her. The cousins haven’t seen each other in months, and last night was the first time my sis dad and I spent any time altogether but that was due to my mom needing to be taken to the hospital.

This whole situation is so damn goofy. I’m trying to sort out just how risky the whole situation is.

Y’all need to video call more.

You keep things small it shouldn’t be an issue. Try to keep it 15 people or less.

I got it a few weeks ago. immediately tore it up and threw it in the trash

Yeah, its gonna be like 7.

The size doesn’t really matter at that point save for slowing down reinfection. Its that whole weird blind man’s bluff situation where I’m hoping they didn’t catch it.

Here’s the situation: I spent two hours with then last night by myself. Thats more than long enough to catch something.

The issue is that my neice may or may not still be playing with the kids around the apartment complex. If she is then that’s a big issue.

Well, you’d never be perfectly safe, but there’s a lot you can do to minimize risk.

Make sure you stay outdoors, which should be pretty easy if it’s a cookout. Stay 6+ feet away from anyone you aren’t already living with. Only eat the food coming hot off the grill, skip the communal room temperature stuff that’s sitting out. Typical wash your hands, don’t touch your face routine. Bring hand sanitizer.

Got bodied by my 6 month old nephew yesterday on that front. He loves me and apparently he loves my glasses and beard. So if my sister or dad have it, he has it and I have it too.

All the homes here are on air conditioners and that air is recirculating constantly in small rooms. One sneeze is definitely staying there long term.

This fucking disease.

I had a problem with social distancing yesterday. My daughter and I was drawing with with side walk chalk and a older gentleman came up and asked what we were doing /drawing. He was on a motor scooter and a amputee so I assume he rarley has/had visitors so he probably wanted some human interaction. He didn’t respect the 6 feet rule( it was more like 4ish) but it only lasted 30 seconds. Made me paranoid and mad but I didn’t want to explode in front of my daughter.

The highlights — or, rather, lowlights — include President Trump’s initial acceptance of the assurances by President Xi Jinping of China that all would be well, his scandalous complacency from late January through early March, his cheerleading for unproven treatments, his musings about cockamamie ones, his abdication of muscular federal guidance for the states and his failure, even now, to sketch out a detailed long-range strategy for containing the coronavirus.

And we still have morons who support the guy.

The standard in this situation will forever be:

If some idiot in a video game forum was taking this seriously since mid-January, why didnt your government?
