I didn’t check this thread nearly as frequently yesterday. (Dat Animal Crossing is like crack). As a result, I had a lot of stuff to look through.
Saw someone posted a video from Now This with one of the health workers mentioning the 1918 Pandemic. When I was reading up on the coronavirus a week ago, it was the first time I’d ever heard of that outbreak. Doing more reading into it revealed that it was without question the worst pandemic the world has ever faced.
This documentary is 40 minutes long but very informative.

The 1918 Pandemic spread in large part due to the war. You had some places do what we’re doing now, social distancing, lockdown. Some didn’t and as a result of the virus spread rapidly across the world. The 1918 Pandemic lasted a little over a year and killed more troops than the four year duration of WWI. It was estimated that 500 million people were infected globally. The death toll for global numbers were estimated to be 50 million. More than half a million people died in the United States alone.
Now this clown Trump is talking about us going back to the way things were in April? This fool clearly does not realize how serious this sitch is. Wants to risk our lives just to pick the economy back up? Bruh, we can’t make a living if we aren’t living.
Life dealt us the crappiest of hands. I know it sucks for people to be stuck at home. For some, it is much more difficult than others. I firmly believe we can and will get back to normal. But that is going to take time and sacrifice. For a lot of people, sacrifice is gonna be staying at home.
Is anyone else mad that this virus might take away Yoga Pant Summer from us? The uptick of hot girls in Yoga Pants/Leggings used to be THE highlight of the summer for me, even though I don’t get out much. Covid-19 has officially made it to my job. The company as of today atleast is going around checking temperatures and not allowing you on the boat if it ain’t right. I’m guessing that rumor was true which is why they’re ramping up
I do find issue with how they’re doing tho. They’re asking if you’ve been out of the country, which is moot at this point, Corona has infected all of the US whether you’ve been out of country or not. I also don’t like how they don’t seem to be willing to pay ppl who are quarantined tho, they very much have the funds to do so.
But I’m not gonna be harsh on em, this is literally a situation we’ve never been in before so it’s pretty much trial, and error to keep us safe.
